Obama Finally Gets Serious . . . Sues the People of Arizona
The Voice of Reason ^ | June 18, 2010 | Texas Peartree

Posted on 06/18/2010 8:14:19 PM PDT by Texas Peartree

The threat of sanctions has failed. The empty threat of military strikes has failed. An international coalition of the willing, marshaled by President Obama, is now being ignored.

Iran and the nuclear bomb? No, I am writing about Arizona and the immigration enforcement bomb they are threatening the world with. By using the state power to enforce the federal laws that the Feds will not or cannot, Arizona is committing a terrible faux pas and her punishment will be severe: a swarm of dark-suited lawyers from the Department of Justice.

Where have you Arizonans been the past 18 months? Are you ignoring the trend-lines toward more concentration of power in DC? Do you not see that the Feds can decide which laws to enforce, or can even enforce non-existent laws (e.g. forcing BP to set up a $20 billion slush fund)? States now exist at the whim of the President. Don't be shocked if he gives you back to Mexico.

Arizona, world opinion is against you. Secretary of State Clinton is against you. Homeland Security Czarina Napolitano is against you. President Acorn is against you. The only people on your side are the people of Arizona . . . and the rest of America.

Never give up...

This might be addressed in the article but I’ve had too much red-colored, adult beverage this evening to read it with any comprehension:

Is there precedent for the federal government suing a state?

(Honestly, every single G.D. day there’s a shocking new insult from this effing so-called President.)

Arizona didn’t just displease the administration, it showed that the administration was failing to carry out its constitutional responsibility to defend the country.

I think his strategy should just be to cede Arizona to Mexico.

That would shut them (dissenting ingrates) up.

I mean, that doesn’t seem too far from his Israel solution, does it?

technically Arizona can't sue, Since January 2009 , the United States has not had a legal President, therefore the Republic ceased to legally exist until such time as a legal President is sitting in Washington. How can you separate yourself from something that does not exist? Sounds crazy? maybe not ,could be a way to throw this back into barry face. I have spoken to a few legal friends and they all agree that obama is in violation of Article 2 of the Constitution , but no politician has the “balls” to face off against him. I hope the Governor of Arizona has the “balls” to fight him .

Hmmmm.....an interesting take on the situation.

As for Governor Brewer of Arizona, I’ve heard her speak on talk radio and she is one tough cookie. I doubt if she is going to take any sh*t from anyone, especially Obama.

I’m glad the Republican party has some tough conservative women gaining national attention.....Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Sharron Angle, Jan Brewer, etc. A breath of fresh air, after so many years of RINOs.

The Puke is trying to get his poll numbers in the single digits before We The People demand his resignation for incompetence.

So the People of the United States are going to sue the people of the United States that live in the State of Arizona in a Federal Court over a state law?

For the last 35 years I have been a registered democrat. I have now changed to the Republican party because of people like Palin and Brewer( not McCain). I hope you are right about Brewer.

Awesome dude. Can you also please give Kalifornia back to Mexico as fast as possible. We are about to have a revolution here and I really would prefer to take on the non-nuclear Mexican Army.

For 37 years I have been a registered Republican and I’m considering switching my registration to Independent because I can’t stand the inability of Steele, McConnell, Boehner and others in the party establishment to develop a coherent message of opposition to this administration.

I traveled the dirt of Maricopa Rd. from Chandler to Gila Bend for years. This dick-wipe we have now has allowed drug smugglers and Coyotes to take it over. Just wait until Southern-Pacific is hit. Wake-Up, he is systematically taking over the best in World History.

I thoroughly enjoy reading sane and logical posts here at FR early in the morning.

You have hit the nail squarely on the head.

Arizona should mount a state sanctioned full out all across the state campaign of ads, billboards, mail, TV and radio ads asking for proof that Obama is an eligible President.

Arizona, call Obama out, demand he reveal his qualifications to be POTUS.

Why Liberals support this whack job is because they know his lies are different than Bush’s lies and so it all evens out and satisfies the coneheads. ask them.

From what I heard yesterday, the Federal suit is based on the Federal assertion that only Federal Immigration authorities can enforce Federal Immigration laws. This assertion is based on some yet-to-be identified clause in the Federal immigration law.

In the end it would mean that states cannot enforce federal law. Hmmmm?

> In the end it would mean that states cannot enforce federal law. Hmmmm?

Indeed, this is the Obamunists assertion and the basis for their case. Unless the Federal law explicitly delegates or extends enforcement of its laws to States and Municipalities, it is an usurpation of Federal Jurisdiction for them to do so.
