There he was, in the glare of the spotlight, behind the great resolute desk (for a change, without his shoes propped up), delivering his first Oval Office speech, attempting to project a demeanor of calm and competence and leadership.
Except I couldn't help but think he looked like a cockroach dressed as a used car salesman desperate for a sale, trying to con the American people into thinking that he was kicking my ***, so he could skitter safely back into his crack in the wall after the camera went dark.

I nearly laughed out loud at this:
‘he looked like a cockroach dressed as a used car salesman’
It brought to mind the appearance and demeanor of that TV ad for ‘Terminex’ which has this HUGE cockroach always trying to get cozy with homeowners.
Not a bad comparison! LOL!
Sort of like those Orkin ads, huh? With the cockroach knocking on the door and sticking his foot in your morning coffee? LOL!
