Speaking of a big ‘Thank you’ did I miss the big thank you obama gave the flying Dutchman when he jumped over 3 rows of seats to take down the underwear bomber?

Sorry but even if Ronnie Reagan had done such I would say it was Criminal Negligence.

Thousand of gallons of oil that would not have hit the shores will now because Obama did not take the help.

There is no spinning this. This is either deliberate OR just stupidity. Either way not accepting this help will directly affect negatively the lives of the people on the gulf coast. As far as I am concerned this borders on an impeachable offense.

I agree with your speculation of Obama not wanting to accept help and I will add one more consideration. When you are in the habit of taking unfair advantage of bad situations, it is difficult not to suspect that everyone else has ulterior motives in offering to help. Dishonest people think everyone else is dishonest.

I’m certain he wouldn’t have actually had to be present in the Gulf to do the right thing—and I’m nowhere convinced that he wanted to do the right thing anyway.

I am certain that our ships would have made a valuable contribution to the clearup of the oil covering the coastal waters. Why o why did Obie refuse?????

Perhaps to further his agenda to make our great country more dependent on moslem hordes who are hell bent on destroying us?

I do not want to be seen as defending BP in all of this. I am one to say “solve now, blame later.” BP should have mentioned how Obama turned down offers of assistance from the Dutch and 16 other nations in their public service announcement.

He and his minions have been out since Day 1 blaming BP. The events leading up to the explosion and fire belong to BP. I cannot think of anyone who would dispute that. The damage done to the water quality, beaches, marshes, wildlife, & sea life belong to both BP and Obama. Mostly Obama because he refused assistance and ignored the suggestions and pleas of people who know that area (Bobby Jindal comes to mind).

As someone said down thread, this refusal needs to be hammered in. When pundits ask “What more could he have done?” Someone needs to answer “accept the help that was offered.”

Someone with the time and the money should COLLECT some of the precious wildlife killed from suffocating oil and DUMP the remains in michelle’s fancy garden for fertilizer.

Absolutely, this is the bastards 9/11 moment, a opportunity to demonize the oil companies, perhaps nationalize them, further strangle the US economy by precluding the E&P of oil in the oil rich Gulf, which will drive up prices in due time, and make it so that the costs of obtaining this offshore oil will be prohibitive (think unlimited liability) for any company. Further, making sure the coal industry is ruined with cap and crap and you've got the makings for $10/gal. gas, $250/bbl oil, $10,000/yr heating bills, $1/kw electric and an eviscerated modern lifestyle.

By again voting present, while totally absent, this obvious and despicable traitor will have achieved his purpose - to ruin this country.

Of course, Soros and his PBR will supply the more expensive oil.

Except, practically, they would have to visit US ports to unload the sucked up oil - and the Jones act apparently prevents this unless the federal government permits.

Don’t forget GE’s hand in this. They are waiting for alternative energy , carbon tax, etc....

For the most part I agree with your take on obama. Where we differ is on his success and schedule.

Your frog in the pot warning is decades too late. Look around you; the water is almost boiling. In this country and around the world.

He and the progressives have moved quickly and have accomplished more and changed our world more than I would have dreamed possible. This didn't just suddenly happen with obama, but has been in the works for a very long time.

Thank God there is grass roots outrage and opposition and I hope it gross stronger the next two elections. And I hope it's not too late.

We Americans have trouble thinking out of the box and seeing the world clearly. We like our vision cloudy, like on 9/10 or on the day before Pearl Harbor. Or now. The more unconventional the threat, the more cloudy our vision. None so blind...

"C'mon in, the water's fine"

You and I certainly are aware that creeping socialsim has been going on for decades, but many Americans are still oblivious to this, or don’t want to acknowledge the threat. My point in the post was that Obama is devious, but not quite as competent as many give him credit for. The pace and recklessness of his headlong charge into socialism is actually alarming many people now (i.e., independents and even some democrats). A more competent, smarter ‘player’ would have been more subtle in their approach to implementing (unwanted) change. With cool operators the frog dosen’t even realize he’s in the pot, much less being boiled. That was the point I was trying to make. America is just now seeing how really inexperienced, deceitful, reactive and narcissistic he really is. Obama is failing to deal with almost every pressing issue on his plate now and people are openly questioning his competence.

I don't disagree with you and have posted similar thoughts. obama appears to be an undisciplined, narcissistic sociopath seasoned with plenty of early life instability and radical influences to get his wagon rolling. How improbable that it would roll into the White House!

Honestly, I can't imagine a worse mental health profile for such a high pressure position as the POTUS. No wonder the wheels are starting to come off and you're right about his inexperience helping to trip him up.

The only hope for the Republic is that enough voters see him and what the progressives are doing clearly and, most importantly, don't like it enough to get serious. Are we there yet? Too little, too late?

On the progressives' end game chess board, we're in check. And since we still think we're just playing checkers, they could sacrifice obama and still control the game.

“Cloward & Piven”

Quite likely. But if so, he likely doesn’t have the support of the House this close to the election.
