A detailed commentary from the Great One! Hannity also has a great monologue concerning Rush's wedding on his show earlier today! I did not know that Rush and Elton John had kept up a regular email communication for quite some time.
Why does everyone assume Rush is some kind of Homophobe? He isn’t, never has been, and I’d say anyone who claims he is has never listened to his show.
That is true. I’ve heard Rush say over and explain time again that he’s not a homophobe.
Mark Levin attended the Wedding and he commented on Elton John entertaining at the Reception.
Apparently, Elton was at the same Hotel in Hawaii when Rush had his heart issue. Elton heard about it and contacted Rush to see how he was doing.
Rush and Kathryn heard about Elton’s concern and called him to thank him. Since then, they have been in contact with Elton and asked him if hew would perform at the Wedding. As Mark said, Elton took time during his performance to tell the guests that he was there because he valued building relationships, not tearing them down.
Mark said Elton was great and he enjoyed meeting him, as did many other guests. It was a celebration of family and friends and everyone including Elton had a great time.
At least Rush didn’t go swimming in the nude with Elton like Michael Savage did with Allen Ginsberg.
Savage doesn’t give 1 million dollars to the homo agenda either.
I've had several very good, very GAY friends. None of them ever tried to turn me toward their lifestyle. I didn't try to convert them, either. Friendship can transcend such things. I think Rush is old enough and wise enough to choose his own friends. I have online friends I who are "strange" but it doesn't dent the friendship. Why is it necessary to be so shocked that someone of Rush's talent, influence, and knowledge should have friends outside OUR parameters? Let's wait and see what Rush has to say about all this.
Personally, I love Elton John's stuff, and have several of his albums. His private life is no concern of mine.
Good post
It has been an interesting night.
The guy who spotted Rush’s raw talent and was as responsible for his success as anyone (outside of Rush himself) was a very talented broadcaster and consultant who was gay.
Rush was very fond of him, very much influenced by him (his fascination with computers began with this man), and was moved by his fear of getting aids.
Unfortunately, aids is what took his life.
Good catch.
Yea Im pretty sure Elton was hoping Rush would turn gay
I bet Elton John was terrific at the wedding.
That was a very nice story!!! I feel better now!!
“Yea Im pretty sure Elton was hoping Rush would turn gay
“
lol. YOu nailed it. That’s why Elton played at his wedding, that last hope befor Rush took the vows.
Elton John played at the wedding for a big cheque. I’m sure he’s amused by the ancilliary benefit of undermining Rush’s credibility with his conservative audience. At this point, I don’t know if Rush arrogantly believes that his connection with the flamboyant pop artist will have no imnpact on his audience or if he’s just lost touch with reality. Either way, it’s bad judgment by Rush. Of course, being on his 4th marriage, Rush’s judgment isn’t always sound.
You obviously didn’t read the rest of the thread where it is known that Rush is not a homophobe and is friends with Elton.
What a crappy thing to do. What’s the problem with visiting the guy’s blog?
What's the problem with using Free Republic as a business platform to pimp a blog?
I’m sure he’s rolling in the dough.
Blog pimping is a blight.
He could just as easily post the content here and not try to draw traffic to some lame blog.
If getting the info out was his goal, he would do that.
I do not support pimps.
Rush has been accused of bad judgment for the past 20 years so don't go thinking you're special.........
