I don’t doubt that liberals are, to a point, well-intentioned. But somewhere in the mind of the liberal—or is it in their hearts—sits a big, ugly pile of garbage that doesn’t belong.

Alinski’s intentions were never good. The man was a greedy lying con man addicted to controlling others.

Something else Alinsky never thought of is that God is victorious against the rebel.

“I don’t doubt that liberals are, to a point, well-intentioned.”

Some. I’m convinced, however, that many are those with a need to ‘save the world’ in a way that exalts them and their self-defined superior knowledge. These are the ones who wind up as activists and/or politicians. They see themselves as ‘special’, and liberal activism allows them to act out how special they think they are. Others are either envious of what someone else has, or feel guilty about what they themselves have (e.g. Bill Gates and much of Hollywood). Some are just selfish union members who want to vote themselves pay raises.

“People of the Lie: Insight for Traders
Many wise traders look deep. They know to understand human psychology is the bedrock of good living and ultimately success. The book People of the Lie by Scott Peck offers food for thought:

“The central defect of ‘the evil’ is not the sin but the refusal to acknowledge it. More often than not these people will be looked at as solid citizens. How can that be? How can they be evil and not designated as criminals? The key word is designated. They are criminals in that they commit crimes against life and liveliness...their crimes are so subtle and covert that they cannot clearly be designated as crimes. The theme of hiding and covertness will occur again and again throughout the rest of this book. It is the basis for the title People of the Lie.”

“Evil deeds do not make an evil person. Otherwise we would all be evil. If evil people cannot be defined by the illegality of their deeds or the magnitude of their sins, then how are we to define them? The answer is by the consistency of their sins. While usually subtle, their destructiveness is remarkably consistent. This is because those who have crossed over the line are characterized by their absolute refusal to tolerate the sense of their own sinfulness.”

“Studies from the book, “People of the Lie,” by M. Scott Peck
To better understand evil, it is worthwhile to consider the conclusions of scholars, such as M. Scott Peck, Erich Fromm, Martin Buber and others who devoted a good part of their lives to the study of the nature of the workings of the minds of evil people. Although many thinkers, ethicists, theologians and behavioral scientists have written volumes on the subject and many of those have influenced my thinking, I gained my clearest perspective after reading Peck’s book, “People of the Lie.” M. Scott Peck was the noted psychiatrist, who also wrote “The Road Less Traveled,” one of the best selling books of all time. Therefore, many of the observations and conclusions which follow are taken either directly from his writings or are paraphrasings (so much so that this would really be considered a book review rather than an original discussion). For me to claim (or allude to) them as my own would be plagiarism and therefore I give full attribution to Dr. Peck for the excellent work he did in his analysis of the nature of evil.”

Alinsky was not only a socialist, he was and educated (controlled), degreed sociologist.

One point I would like to bring up is Lucifer, by all characterizations is also the Father of Lies, and a deceiver. Alinksy may have dedicated a book to him; however, one huge oversight or misstep is that Lucifer is not on his side and would expend Alinsky when needed, by any means necessary.

This reinforces the poster's original argument, a leftist's mind where absolutes (moral or otherwise) don't exist, your feet are planted firmly in mid-air. And by all intents and purposes, your life is lived for you and you alone. The lust for power and control is exacerbated by those who have no moral guidance.

Well-intentioned is not the same thing as well-thought-out, and the fact of the matter is, liberals are simply incapable of rational thought. As the old saying goes, the road to H*ll is paved with good intentions.

I haven't actually read the book, but from what I hear and the results I see, Alinsky was ever-bit the con man he trained obama to be, then some.

He taught people how to lie, swindle, backstab, and assination of character to get their way.

His techniques are not unheard of...I have a three-year old nephew who occasionally pitches tantrums and uses the exact, same techniques.

It all depends on how strong the parents (conservatives) are as to whether the brats (progressives) will be controlled, or just fed a steady diet of tranquilizers between elections.

This current occupier of the oval office cannot take a dump without consulting Alinsky. He's a southside con man who thinks he found a gimmick to getting through life without actually having to work. He's trying to mouth his way to posterity and fortune, but his kingdom is flailing.

The only reason that barack obama has made it as far as he has in destroying America, is because SOMEONE LETS HIM.

We have most of the asylums' inmates serving in congress, so they are no going to contain the crazy guy...they are on board with him.

America will fall unless some people start standing up to these clowns, take their Alinsky "bible" and stick it up their ----- and let the adults take charge.

We are letting the very thing that wounded us on 9/11, finish the job with the muslim-in-chief...and no one is raising a finger...except their middle ones when we try to stop it.

It may come to the SEIU soloution - reversed - the persuasion of power may have to be brought to bare to stem this fall of the USA.

Of the many wars we have fought to keep our freedom, all the people who have died...it will be a damn shame to be taken down by a skinny black guy who is probably not even eligible to be president...it will be laughable to the rest of the world as we crumble.

You hit the nail on the head!

Leftists/Liberals (Mohammedans also) are purely Luciferian, even when they don't know it or admit it to themselves.

They, too, want their own kingdom, but since earning it would require them to be productive (and that would require obedience to the Truth), they must stoop to stealing it from someone else.

Also, note that Alinsky mentioned that Lucifer won his own kingdom (and he did)...it's just that his kingdom is most notable for its conspicuous lack of God and Truth in any shape, form, or spirit—and that is pure hell!

Wasn’t Lucifer’s greatest sin, his motivation, a narcissistic jealousy? He wasn’t rebelling because of any wrongs committed against him or other angels. There was no oppression, prejudice or other suffering imposed on him or anyone else. Everything was perfect. His sole complaint was that he couldn’t take credit for that perfection. So Lucifer was the rebel whose cause was jealousy the most ignoble cause of all. Fits communists/Progressives like Barry0 to a T.

What makes me particularly upset is the fact people like Saul Alinsky, Richard Cloward and France Fox Piven have never seen what happens Leftist ideas run amok. Have they seen what Stalin did to the Soviet Union, maybe killing around 70 MILLION Soviet citizens from purges, labor camps and deliberate starvation between 1928 and 1953, and what Mao Zedeng did to China, maybe killing somewhere between 70 to 100 MILLION Chinese citizens from labor camps, mass shootings and misguided policies between 1949 and 1976?

I for one saw saw a child in Hong Kong almost first hand the effects of the Cultural Revolution in China, with my mom knowing first hand people who escaped to Hong Kong between 1966 and 1970 at great risk to their lives. This is why I am so dead-set against the policies of Prsident Obama.

I think Obama is the ULTIMATE wannabe.

Which explains why he fits in so well with the other losers.

You might enjoy this vanity.

Cheers!
