You don't know what ugly politics is unless you go to South Carolina. Sure, they play dirty in Chicago, and everything will be thrown at you in New Orleans and Boston. But South Carolina plays politics like a feeding frenzy at a pig sty.
For those of you that don't know, Nikki Haley is the leading candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor of South Carolina. The old boy Republican establishment really, really hates this fact.
Haley ran as an outsider in a state that is as old fashioned as any...and shocked the world. As a member of the state legislature, she has shown herself to be a true conservative, and funneled that experience into coalescing her conservative voice. She was able to tap into voter resentment of the establishment, and thus, has built a huge lead and huge coffers of money.

all this stuff is coming out now because she is ahead and the polls and most of it is pushed because Palin endorsed her. They want Palin to show she isn’t a winner.
It will get even uglier if she’s lying.
We contacted her office to get her on the show, and no gotz.
“If you live in South Carolina, I simply will tell you this: listen to Ms. Haley, see what she has done during her time in Columbia, and then ask yourself: if you are a conservative, is this the type of woman you would like leading your state?”
Here’s a ping to some South Carolina freepers! I hope they will take a good look at Ms. Haley!

I moved to SC three years ago. I always was of the opinion that SC politics was dirty, but this is beyond dirty...this is downright disgusting with what's happening in this state right now.
Now I'm going to send her money....and vote for her.
A couple of things bother me about her. She represents my district but I’ve never voted for her. I know that Joe Wilson is on some comittee that deals with India affairs....not real sure what that is. He got Nikki Haley elected to show India how much power he had. There is also the question of her Christianity. As early as 4-5 years ago she spoke of her Sikh religion in which she was raised. Then she was Methodist. Her website referred to God a few months ago and in the past few weeks has included Christ. Then the question of her morality. She just seems all over the place on everything. Not to mention that she believes global warming is real and government health care. I didn’t vote for her as my representative and I’m sure won’t vote for her as my governor.

Ive been in local, state and national politics and I know this is going to be an uphill fight, Jenerette said. But you dont get into South Carolina politics without expecting every political and personal enemy you ever had to sharpen their knives and come after you big time. Just look at the treatment Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has been put through during and after this years Presidential election. This is nothing new if you go against the status quo. Im just starting this fight early and I expect it to be a tough campaign.

Do share with us a link to where Nikki has said she believes ‘global warming’ is real, please? I’d like to see it.
How did Joe Wilson "get" her elected? Do you mean he endorsed her? It seems to me the folks in that district elected her.
There is also the question of her Christianity.
Her Christianity is in "question"?
As early as 4-5 years ago she spoke of her Sikh religion in which she was raised.
I thought she WAS raised as a Sikh. In fact, she has made no secret of it.
Then she was Methodist.
As a Christian, I rejoice in her conversion
Her website referred to God a few months ago and in the past few weeks has included Christ.
??????????
Then the question of her morality.
Show me someone who is making these accusations who has nothing to gain politically.
Not to mention that she believes global warming is real and government health care.
Sources, please?
If you don't want to vote for her, then don't. If you want to try to convince others not to vote for her, try using the ISSUES. All of this crap about her religion and these unsubstantiated attacks on her character are just tactics used by people who are afraid that she will upset the "good ol' boys" apple cart. It is sleazy, slimey, rotten to the core politics at it's worst.
I look forward to the information on Global Warming and Obamacare. THAT could convince me to change my vote.
Just out of curiosity, has Haley issued outright denials, or the non-denial denial variety?
There is a youtube video at the link. You can judge the denial for yourself there.
It’s sad when conservatives lie to win an election or to demean another candidate.
“Its sad when conservatives lie to win an election ...”
A Ronald Reagan definition of a true conservative....
“If you want to make a Conservative angry, tell them a lie; if you want to make a Liberal angry, tell them the truth”
Excellent definition. Conservatives should be debating each other on policy and not hide behind the agenda of the candidate they really support. If you’re a Mitt or Huckabee supporter, just admit it and state your case. It’s a shame they have to start rumors about those they can’t beat at the ballot box. The same thing happened here in 2000. It’s disheartening.
They won't. You can call them out as cowards right to their faces, and they will change the subject. They will find reasons to attack De Mint, Daniels, Barbour, Pawlenty, Palin--pretty much anyone but Mitt or Huck. That's the only way to recognize them.
