I highly recommend that everyone writes letters to their Senators and Representatives about topics and issues that are potential powder kegs. Then, make their responses as public as possible so that people can see what their Congresscritters really believe or are simply too scared to face up to. I've sent many letters to Webb and Warner and will gladly make them and the responses available to whomever runs against them in the next election cycle. Alot of them would make for good TV ads about where Webb and Warner really stand on certain issues.

Yawn, you wrote a Congresscritter and received in return a form letter. Wow what a surprise.

In his defense, Congresscritters whether they agree or disagree with you probably do not have the time of day nor the staff to compose a personal reply to everyone that writes them. I would rather they read the bills than compose personal letters to people writing them about general issues like this.

On the contrary, I’ve recieved numerous responses from both Webb and Warner that did address specific points of my original letters. But they only do so when it is in their political interest to address them. Otherwise, they turn tail and run.
