Rand Paul is being attacked for his position on part of the Civil Rights act passed in 1960s and reauthorized by the Republican congress in 2006. His position is that the Federal government has no authority under the constitution to tell private business who they must have as customers. On the other hand, he agrees that the other parts of the civil rights act where the federal government tells local governments who they can’t discriminate against is perfectly constitutional. So far only leftist sources have picked this up. He was on MSNBC Maddow last night fighting off statements from her about how African Americans fought and took beatings for the right to sit a private business lunch counter. Most Republicans will run away from Paul’s position as not to be called a racist. Many will say he lost the November election over this political poison. This is something very difficult to discuss because of emotions over the issue.
His very unpopular position really does strike at the heart of the federal government’s power to run businesses, and even put personal mandates on us. Guess what? The same commerce clause that was used to defend this constitutionally will be used to force you to buy health insurance. Every time Republicans give in to something popular that seems the ‘right’ and 'moral' thing to do increasing federal power, they are killing their chances of opposing things they hate on constitutional grounds. Paul’s position is a political loser and may rally the democrat base to vote against him. But this is something to ponder when your next freedom is taken away and you are told by courts that it is allowed by the constitution.

American’s are sick and tired of ratwingers playing the race card, which has done nothing to further the cause of black Americans in our nation- that is the tact he should take...

A couple months back the local news station went to the TEA Party and I thought “Oh FINALLY some coverage”
They only asked them about the idiot leftist who flew the plane into the IRS building in Austin. “Do you distance yourself from that?”
That was the only thing the media wanted to ask the TEA partiers that day. Of course this was simply meant to link them to a terrorist event in the minds of viewers and readers (Dallas paper did the exact same thing)

He is going to blow the Democrat, Conway, out of the water so hard, they gotta go to Timbuctu before they can find him again. Right now, Rand Paul has about one of the biggest leads in the polls, of any congressional elections in the country.

He could of articulated it better. I did a much better job than him, but I was not in the hotseat on camera either.
He was nuts to go on MSNBC. They believe Obama-care is a civil right. Time will tell how this all plays out.
I say Bring It!
While I am a conservative and not a libertarian, I do now believe in the “right to association” being that this is obviously no longer just an issue regarding racial or gender discrimination but the democrats want to now use this un-Constitutional power to force businesses to accept their perverted morality as well. The democrats seek to make it illegal to not accept the perverted behavior of people.
It is time that all conservatives make a stand for the “right to association”. The government does not own our businesses or our homes.
Smart tactics on their part. Paul, in turn, needs to keep from getting sucked into those arguements and keep hammering on the issues that got him where he is - big government, intrusive government, out-of-control spending, entitlement programs.
He shoulda listened to Sarah Palin, who only last week called MSNBC, “enemy territory”. It really doesn't make any sense for any GOP candidate to appear on MSNBC. First of all, their ratings suck, and second, the few people who watch MSNBC are hard line, left wing nuts who never vote for Republicans anyway. Why on earth would Paul appear on such a channel?

Rand Paul is not nuts. What is nuts, however, is voting for the same Republican machine, RINO candidates over and over again. Arlen Spector is now gone. He shot himself in the foot and let his true colors show. Now it’s time to get rid of some more hacks like McCain and Graham. Let’s give more Tea Party candidates and Constitutionalists like Rand Paul a chance.

Rand Paul is nuts when it comes to National Security with his ‘blame America’ rhetoric. Him and his father are both wrong on this issue and would be dangerous for our nation and for freedom around the world.
If I was in his state, I would vote for Rand Paul. I think we need more courageous Republicans like him.
Rand Paul brings up a good argument to discuss. During Obama-care the term ‘constitution’ was thrown around regarding both mandates and ‘deemed passed’. They were called unconstitutional here even though there are legal precedents for both of them. I want freepers to understand how they lost their rights and freedoms, for mandated civility.
