These guys were sadistic bastards.

This is not what government was made for.

For those of you that think Canadians deserve this?

You have no idea.

This Canadian guy is acting like he is and his wife.... Because he is used to freedom.

Freedom. Must be a quaint word for you Americans.

Good luck with your police state.

Piss off the few allies you have left.

And, see the new future of American Exceptionalism.

You might even win the world cup this year.

Welcome to the third world.

Watch more Glenn Beck.

He’s doing your soul good.

Pray that Jefferson doesn’t spank your behind in the afterlife should you be so honoured to end up in the same place as him.

Cheers SS.

I agree sort of.

The first one was a obvious sadist.

The supervisor seemed to want to sort thing out.

Though the arrest at the end. That was back to sadism again.

>Pity that most FReepers probably have no idea about their founding fathers.

That’s the surprising thing. You would think that they could at least read the Constitution (from time to time) before saying “it doesn’t apply to foreigners” and other such tripe. But then again, if they did, they would realize that it is about limiting what the Government can do.

>They listen do Glenn Beck don’t ya know?

That makes it all the more ironic; Glenn shows a LOT of respect for the founders and even has a “Founder’s Fridays” where he devotes his Friday show to...
*GASP* The Founders.

You know, the ones from Deep Space Nine! [/sarc] ;)

But, on the topic of the Constitution, you might like these:

http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0ATyjMtQJe7iWZHY2OTh0bV8yN2htZnBzOWQy&hl=en <— The title for this one is meta-humor about what people would call me for putting this out as a proposal.

Don’t worry.

Find a first world nation to do business with....

Honestly.

I am here on freerebublic because I love the Unites States.

But, today I have been reading a few years of the donutwatch keyword links. And, reading about your treatment in Texas?

What can you say?

You would be a good serf in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, or any Taliban influenced village.

You argue how the afghani goat herders should withstand the Taliban, yet at the first sight of a man with some authority over you you try to find creative ways to submit?

Are you French?

“The Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) to the United States Constitution is the part of the Bill of Rights which guards against unreasonable searches and seizures. The amendment specifically also requires search and arrest warrants be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause.”

Sorry but you guys are missing the big point. The Constitution only applies to US citizens, to protect our rights.
This is of course what Eric Holder was trying to do with the terrorist trials, apply Constitutional protections to foreigners which is very wrong.
The border people are there to protect out borders and to control who comes in. I would expect the Canadians to do the same for their border. They had every right to ask where he was going and see how he answered.

That is the thing.

The border north or south is not secured. At all.

Yet these border guards think it is worth their time to harass this Canadian married couple. I have never understood sadists.

But, it must have some appeal. FReepers on here are applauding this while cops are arresting Christians for spreading the gospel.

In America.

With friends like this, who needs enemies.

“This Canadian guy is acting like he is and his wife.”

No, he is acting like an entitled smart ass.
This is the same attitude that those south of the border have. They think that our border doesn't matter, and they are free to come here illegally.

Sorry; I'm not ready for the glorious new world order, border less world yet.

Good fences make good neighbors.

And you know what?

They do that duty a heck of lot better than these thugs.

I honestly cannot understand a single person standing up for these people.

I fell in love with America as the hope of mankind as a kid.

Silly of course, but that it should get this ugly, this fast, I could never have imagined.

No, the Constitution delineates what the Federal government can and CANNOT do to protect our rights.
Read the Bill of rights and you’ll see that a FULL SIXTY percent deal with property-rights; more specifically, the intersection of property-rights and the government.

According to your theory it would be perfectly Constitutional for the border-guards to steal the ID, money, keys and even clothes from someone wanting entry to the country before turning him back.

I actually had an experience crossing into Canada where I was asked similar questions.
Where are you going? Why? How long? Who do you know there?
I was a bit taken aback, and I almost acted like this idiot to the Canadian border guards.
But I didn't; and realized later that they have every right to ask those kind of questions to me.

Now if I was coming back to the US and I was asked those kind of questions; I would have been more agitated than the guy on the recording.
Because that's my home country, and I am protected by my Constitution.

“do to protect our rights.”

Those rights of us who are US citizens. Not Iranians, Canadians, etc...

Eric Holder had no right giving Constitutional rights to Islamic terrorists.

Let’s flip this around.
How do we know you’re an American citizen? Do you have your Passport?
There have been numerous false IDs created for illegal immigrants; how do we know that you’re not just claiming to be a Citizen so you can get those Constitutional Rights?

He might act like an entitled smart ass.

So do I guess

As a Christian I believe that human decency matters.

But, you miss the point. These border guards are not about to secure the USA, they are about to satisfy their base desires of domination.

I am Norwegian. We are not part of the EU. I have fought against the EU, and I will fight against it as long as I can draw breath.

I want strict, high fences, but I don’t kick my friends in the nuts when he comes over for a bbq whilst letting hooligans in left right and center.

Technically we shouldn’t be engaging in “police”-missions with our military except when that policing is needed in pursuit of the real objective: winning a war.

I cannot believe I am turning into one of the “the constitution has to be interpreted in context” sort of guys.

But, I think it does. Though of course I have no say.

The context is the enlightenment. The books Jefferson read etc.

Hell, you can get a lot closer to what it means by looking at it literally.
“No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.” is pretty damn clear, yet we have things like retroactive tax law and the targeted laws for AIG & Goldman Sachs...

I am fed up with what people in authority are doing. It’s not unconstitutional, a word that has been overused, which technically speaking could apply to anything not in the Constitution; but these are Contra-Constitutional, contrary to the very things the Constitution says!
