Nice response; I think it dovetails nicely with my post #120.
The Constitution doesn’t cover foriegners, only citizens and those here legally with visas.
If they sneak in kill them on sight!
Wow, Clive, have you heard this?
I thought I was treated poorly last Christmas, but not like this...
They should try doing this at their southern border!
Sure the Constitution covers foreigners, I gave you several examples.
It even addresses foreigners in exactly the way that you’re thinking too:
ARTICLE 4, SECTION 4.
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this
Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall
protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application
of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature
cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”
Please go back and READ the Constitution before you argue it with me;
then tell me that the examples given in my previous post are null & void
AND GIVE ME THE UNDERLYING REASONING.
I refuse and reject the statement “The Constitution doesnt cover foriegners, only citizens and those here legally with visas.”
If youre a smartass Canadian and his wife, you do NOT have any God-given (or constitutionally guaranteed) right to go down to Niagra and shop! Get over it, Loonie.”
Totally agree!!!
The guy is a FOREIGNER asking for the privilege of entering OUR country. He IS NOT a US citizen and should shut his smart a$$ trap.
The law enforcement people did a GREAT job and this smart a$$ is lucky he was treated as well as he was. He should have had his face slapped a few times.
This is just a symptom of the attitude that everyone thinks that borders don't mean anything, and everyone has the right to waltz into our country.
Why do people on this board have a problem with this? We should be SUPPORTING the border folks in this incident, they did everything very well here.
Of course if the guy was a US citizen; his treatment should be much different
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this
Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall
protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application
of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature
cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”
That’s for citizens, not for stinking foriegners!
“When an officer tells you to do something you do it.”
BINGO! Yes sir. No sir. Thank you sir. The officer has the gun and the power.
Maybe the guy at the booth was having a bad day, but the officer talking to him inside was very polite. Guy driving car was an obnoxious ass looking for an argument. If he would shut up he would have been out of there alot quicker.
I checked the Constitution of Texas after I got home and discovered I had a case under the rule that “No Person” shall be discriminated against on the basis of.....Country of Origin.
I didn't sue, and I found out later that their products suck, so I was happy I hadn't opened an account with them.
Dalereed, Are you saying that the Constitution of Texas only applies to Texans? Does it apply to NYer's?
As a Canadian, on a purchasing trip, should I not expect civil treatment?
The Texas Constitution don’t apply to me, only the California one and the US one!
I don’t give a damn what the Texas one says.
If I went to Texas and their Constitution says I can’t be in texas then it applies to me.
He brought it on himself and made it worse. He would not shut up.
Wonder how it ended?
Whoop tee doo. Shame these border agents can’t do this all along the southern border of Amerika.
I find this humorous because tons of illegals come into the US daily, they don’t get questioned, they get food stamps, a charge card and free doctor visits.
*snort*
I dont give a damn what the Texas one says.
You would if you were in Texas.
The more than a dozen times i’ve been in Texas I couldn’t get my ass out of that hell hole fast enough!
Tell that to the “stinking foreigners” that the State, in execution of these duties, kills.
The Constitution is about what the government can and cannot do.
>FOREIGNER desiring to ENTER this country. THEIR rights are essentially ZERO, until theyre admitted.
So, by that logic, the guard could have simply shot him then and there with no real cause.
Please consider such statements!
Hmmm, maybe..
But a foreign citizen has no RIGHT to enter our country. It is privilege that we bestow if we want to.
The Canadian citizen had a very hostile aggressive attitude of entitlement.
I would never act that way if I was seeking to enter Canada. It's their country, and they have the right to dictate who and how someone enters.
The way you are racing towards third world nationhood who the hell will race in.
Just continue on you your present course. Barroso will be happy.
It does.
Pity that most FReepers probably have no idea about their founding fathers.
They listen do Glenn Beck don’t ya know?
That’s not my point; my point is that as an official of the state they are [supposedly] bound by the Fourth Amendment.
And even if they are not, as some seem to be arguing, they should be able to explain their actions.
If you answered “No reason” to the question of why you killed that guy laying dead at your feet you would, rightly, be convicted of murder.
IOW, why should we give such amazingly arbitrary power to some unelected official of the state as to give as their reason for wielding any power “no reason”?
Are you THAT much convinced of the rightness of any position of authority? If that is the case you ought to become the PR man for Congress because, man, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and Frank sure need someone to believe in them and relay that genuine belief to others.
