At a trade show in Texas, I was kicked out of a showroom for being a Canadian. First they said they don't sell to Canadians, so I asked if I could just come in and look around. I've done that with other suppliers, and made some great working relationships, but no. I was asked to leave , and physically blocked at the door.

I checked the Constitution of Texas after I got home and discovered I had a case under the rule that “No Person” shall be discriminated against on the basis of.....Country of Origin.

I didn't sue, and I found out later that their products suck, so I was happy I hadn't opened an account with them.

Dalereed, Are you saying that the Constitution of Texas only applies to Texans? Does it apply to NYer's?

As a Canadian, on a purchasing trip, should I not expect civil treatment?

The Texas Constitution don’t apply to me, only the California one and the US one!

I don’t give a damn what the Texas one says.

If I went to Texas and their Constitution says I can’t be in texas then it applies to me.

Don’t worry.

Find a first world nation to do business with....

Honestly.

I am here on freerebublic because I love the Unites States.

But, today I have been reading a few years of the donutwatch keyword links. And, reading about your treatment in Texas?

What can you say?
