I cannot believe I am turning into one of the “the constitution has to be interpreted in context” sort of guys.
But, I think it does. Though of course I have no say.
The context is the enlightenment. The books Jefferson read etc.
Hell, you can get a lot closer to what it means by looking at it literally.
“No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.” is pretty damn clear, yet we have things like retroactive tax law and the targeted laws for AIG & Goldman Sachs...
I am fed up with what people in authority are doing. It’s not unconstitutional, a word that has been overused, which technically speaking could apply to anything not in the Constitution; but these are Contra-Constitutional, contrary to the very things the Constitution says!
