Monday night I watched with hands over half open eyes the torturous scene the character Jack Bauer inflicted on the villain of the episode. The bad guy was a Russian terrorist involved with the murder of Jacks love interest and colleague, Renee Walker. If I had been watching the episode in a movie theater, Im pretty sure it would have been Rated R. It was a gruesome and difficult scene.
During the climax of the scene, Jack needs a SD card that the terrorist swallowed. In what appeared to be a psychotic rage, the episode ends with a very dead terrorist and Jack holding the card. As this took place, the effect multiplied with the music backdrop, God downloaded something to my heart:
This is what unforgiveness looks like.

For me, it is too late for him to get a pair of balls. He lost them in the last season’s debacle with Madam Presidente.....
No it doesn't
I prefer the Jewish axiom: “When someone gets up in the morning to kill you, wake up earlier and kill him first.”
I don't get why people were whining about Bauer killing Dana Walsh. She was a traitor and deserved that fate.
liberals pretend ??
Getting throttled, sliced, splashed with acid, and burned would truly suck.
It isn’t unforgiveness. The guy could have given him what he needed without him having to die from being tortured.
It’s like when an intruder busts into your home and you defend yourself by stopping the threat with your firearm. You didn’t intend for him to die, that’s an unfortunate outcome (for the criminal) of you stopping the threat.
The guy being tortured could have spared himself going through all that if he’d have just cooperated. Him dying wasn’t the goal, getting the info was. Him dying was an unintended consequence. Jack didn’t care if the guy survived or not, he needed the card one way or another. One way the guy could have lived without any torture at all, a whole other ways of varying pain but still alive, and then maybe several ways of him dying from different reasons. The guy chose to take his chances and hold out. The fictitious thug character lost the gamble and he died.
It would have been difficult to get the POTUS on 24 to OK a searc warrant and besides the Russian guy won't need a SIMM card where he's going. Right?
The woman president was a bad character, and the season was awful.
I LOVE the early seasons.
Meh, watch “Taken” with Liam Neeson sometime if you are into “24.”
It’s an amazing film.
Huh? He has always respect the office of POTUS. Until POTUS crosses him
"when making a decision, make sure it's not the last one"
He was going to kill that dude, no question.
C’mon! Didn’t you watch last season? Shoot! I tell you...I DVR’d 16 or 18 episodes this season (can’t remember, don’t care)....I looked last night at the wasted space they took up and deleted them UNSEEN. Why? Well, based on the contrite, introspective, remorseful, penitent pussy I saw last season, I just did not want to open up the first episode of this season now and see ole hardball Jack walk into a grocery store and buy a box of friggin’ tampons, THAT’s WHY! 24 is O-V-E-R, let’s try to remember the good ‘days’...
Forgiveness only makes sense if there is assurance of final victory against evil. Otherwise, there would be nothing left in a demented hopeless world but vengeance against a limitless enemy.
I said “yes” when he capped Dana last week, and another “yes” when he shot her again.
Tough darts for the Russian - remember Nicholas Cage ruminating in “The Rock” that he was going to get “gutted”? Well, the Russian got “gutted”.
Now let’s see what Jack has in store for ex President Logan.
Julie, you’re an idiot!
This isn’t a lesson to be translated into a sermon!
Jack is trying to prove the Russians were behind the earlier terrorism and assasination to prevent the peace accord. The SD chip traces a call from the Russian terrorist to the former President.
This will end up giving the current President deniability relating to the Russians misdeeds.
Did Jack’s personal loss make it easier to torture the Russian? Yes, so?
It certainly has NOTHING to do with his unwillingness to forgive.....sheesh!
you just ruined things for me......I just saw the episode where martha stabbed him.......so he lived? dang.
