Via Joe Kovacs, we have a fresh answer to the birthers from Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle (R), given to -- of all people -- former Michael Jackson confidante Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. The comments come around 77 minutes into this interview, after Boteach asks Lingle about legislation that would protect state employees from having to answer the endless questions about President Obama's birth certificate.
"You know, during the campaign of 2008, I was actually in the mainland campaigning for Sen. McCain. This issue kept coming up so much in the campaign, and again I think it's one of those issues that is simply a distraction from the more critical issues that are facing the country. And so I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health, and we issued a news release at that time saying that the president was, in fact, born at Kapi'olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that's just a fact. And yet people continue to call up and e-mail and want to make it an issue. And I think it's, again, a horrible distraction for the country by those people who continue this. ... It's been established. He was born here."(continued)

What aspect of proof doesn’t she understand? If the facts are as she says, and they may well be, why not be forthright and simply release the original birth document and end the discussion?
Surprisingly, I am not convinced by a politicians word alone. I need to see proof...actual, physical, solid proof!!!
Lingle hasn’t seen any proof, either. She’s relying on what her health director told her.
Because Hawaiian privacy laws don’t allow it. It’s that simple. People seem to think that the governor should just ignore the law or refuse to believe it exists. The only one that can release that birth cert is Obama.

I tried - at this site and others - to get people to call her in an attempt to use this issue to discredit the MSM. AFAIK, I got no help with that.
If people would simply approach this issue in the correct way - just the facts, no wild theories - we could use it to discredit dozens of MSM reporters. Instead, people just can’t do that, engaging in wild theorizing that helps the MSM.
Not surprisingly, I do not consider this issue resolved!

You can believe that Obama is a socialist, a marxist and anti-american and anti-israel.....and not believe that he is a usurper. Me? I am agnostic. I’ll remain unconvinced of anything having to do with this issue until one side or the other is proven beyond the shadow of a doubt.
I believe Barack was born on Aug. 4, 1961 in Honolulu, HI.
Also, I believe Barack was adopted by Lolo Soetoro and he changed his name to Barry Soetoro. To remain in Indonesia, Barry had to be issued a Certificate of Nationality by the US State Department to obtain Indonesian Nationality.
Indonesia would not have allowed Barry Soetoro to remain in-country for the long term if he hadn’t renounced his US citizenship to become an Indonesian National.
After his return to Hawaii, BO Sr. objected to the Soetoro adoption and it was dissolved. Barry changed his name back to Barack Obama and incorrectly assumed his US citizenship was restored.
The only was his US citizenship would be restored would have been for him to appear before a US consulate, apply to rescind renunciation of citizenship and take an oath of allegiance.
Everyone has an answer for “birthers” but Obama. I thought this whole thing was ludicrous when it started, but I can’t help wondering why Obama doesn’t just present his birth certificate and put this all to rest.

Lingle’s statement, above, is a lie. Fukino’s statement never
identified Kapiolani as Obama’s birthplace — never, never, never!
Fukino said, “[I have]...personally seen and verified that the Hawai‘i
State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate
on record...,” so there is a document. Hawaii released an Adobe
document containing an alphabetical list of births, produced from the
Hawaii Birth Index database, containing the names of those issued
Certificates of Hawaiian Birth from 1911 to 1971, for those who did
not get a standard Birth certificate, at birth.” The name Obama does
not exist.
Beyond the lie, if Lingle disclosed Obama’s birth hospital without his
permission, she has committed a misdemeanor. If Obama gave permission
for this public disclosure, then Hawaii no longer has a basis for
maintaining the privacy of Obama’s birth records.
Although the governor now claims she issued a news release stating
Kapi’olani is Obama’s birthplace, the actual release said no such
thing, making no reference to Kapi’olani nor any other specific
location of Obama’s birth.
But Lingle’s radio statement could add further confirmation that a
long-form, hospital-generated “Certificate of Live Birth” still
exists.
Ironically, the governor’s pinpointing of the Kapi’olani Medical
Center for Women and Children as well as her health director’s
previous public statements on the matter statement are in apparent
violation of Hawaii state law.
In two separate telephone interviews, Janice Okubo, the Health
Department’s public information officer, said that Hawaii law
prohibited her from commenting on the birth records of any specific
person.
Okubo cited Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 338-18, which pertains to
“Disclosure of Records.”
That section states regarding the release of vital statistics records,
“The department shall not permit inspection of public health
statistics records, or issue a certified copy of any such record or
part thereof, unless it is satisfied that the applicant has a direct
and tangible interest in the record.”
Politifact actually has Okubo on the record denying that the
electronic COLB image provided by the Obama campaign can be
authenticated by her or by anyone at DHOH!
Hawaii has previously released Obama’s birth date, and birth
certificate number, which out of sequence with the Nordyke twins, born
the day after Obama.
Remember, the COLB has only a “Filed” state and not an “Accepted”
state. Until it’s accepted by the registrar it’s nothing.
Hawaii also confirmed Obama’s “vital records” have been amended.
So, little by little, Hawaii violates their own rules by releasing
selected bits of information, while refusing to release the original,
hospital-produced birth certificate.
Jill T. Nagamine, Deputy Attorney General for the State of Hawaii, has
made it clear that her office will not corroborate or back in any way
the July 27, 2009 Statement of Dr. Chiyome Fukino, Director of the
Hawaii Department of Health, which declared Obama Hawaiian-born and a
“natural-born American citizen.”
However, this changes nothing. As long as Barack Hussein Obama Sr. is
the father of Barack Hussein Obama II, Obama remains ineligible to
serve as POTUS and CiC, and sits in the Oval Office as an usurper.

It will never be resolved. I t matters not a twit either way. We need to remove “John Sunday Obama” from office in 2012. In the words of a great American Malcolm X (paraphrasing) “By any legal means necessary”.
Because it continues to dirty up conservatives by association with “birthers” that’s why. It’s a gift to the left to keep on nitpicking this issue.
The basic underlying issue is his father’s birth certificate, not his. His pa was not a citizen, which means that if O is a “native born” American he is not a “natural born” American. There is a distinction and even the press monkeys who like to mock the birthers don’t like to mention the actual issue.
As for his “native born” status, there is a catch there too. He was a dual citizen; what citizenship did he claim once he was of age? Which is to say, what citizenship did he claim in college, and what passport did he use to travel to Pakistan?
So the original birth certificate is interesting but it isn’t the end of the discussion. O knows it, which is why he has embargo’d everything, his birth certificate, his college records, and his passport records. And you will notice that he doesn’t speak to this issue at all; he lets his minions do the talking which assures that he avoids perjuring himself.
Maybe - or maybe he hides it for the same reasons he is hiding his college papers, et al. There seem to be a lot of things Obama doesn't want anyone to know.

He gave up any claim or responsibility to the kid when Stanley “divorced” him and the only time after that the African saw the kid was when he was passing through the Honolulu airport and Stanley dragged the kid there for a photo op
One would think, reading the storyline, BO sr laid no claim to lil Barry being his.

I don't care if he was born on Plymouth Rock on the 4th of July! A "Natural Born" citizen requires two US citizens as parents. An underage white girl and a Kenyan British subject do not fill the bill. So saith an 1874 ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Minor v. Happersett 88 U.S. 162 (1874).
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that if an individual is born in the United States and both parents are U.S. citizens at the time of birth, that individual is, in fact, a natural born citizen. That same Supreme Court decision also addressed the issue of a person born in the United States where one of the parents is not a U.S. citizen at the time of the birth of the child. The ruling noted that in such a case, the child’s natural born citizenship status is “in doubt.”
