Interesting thoughts on "aliens" by Stephen Hawking. Question - Is it possible that "aliens" are really just a demonic deception that will be revealed in the last days to lead us astray?

Of course they can.
I was referring to the kooks that see ET on every street corner, and claim to see flying saucers every day.
I was being sarcastic. I’m a Christian, but I get a bit exasperated when my coreligionists sometimes attribute anything inconvenient to demons, from dinosaurs to ET visitors to some of the findings of science.
After the thousands of years we've had to progress, it's not looking like we've gotten very far.
Indeed, lately, I'm thinking some of our previous civilizations may have been further along than we are mow - I'm not sure we aren't REgressing.

Here’s a few reasons, prefaced by this thought - we know what’s coming:
“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” Matthew 24:24 (NKJV)
1. The “New Age” is very open to the idea of “ascended spiritual masters” and are very open about their belief in alien life forms, frequently claiming contact with them, as well as claiming that these aliens are pointing us towards global unity, global government, environmentalism and earth worship, while also saying that the aliens haven’t contacted us openly yet because we’re “not ready” yet. Frequently they cite Christianity and nationalism as the limiting factors in raising the “vibration” of life here in Earth.
2. In order for the globalists and new agers to fully take charge of Earth, as we know they are destined to do for a time (if you read your Bible), they have to get some serious credibility from somewhere.
3. The emergence of “alien” life forms would be a great vehicle to do that, as they would be viewed as immediate authorities, and many people have been conditioned (like some of the posters right here on this thread” to see “aliens” as superior to us in technological, intellectual, and even spiritual matters. If these “aliens” pointed us all towards the global government and a “new age” many would follow.
4. A demonic ability to transcend space and time in the spiritual realm could be easily explained as “advanced technology” as could all their supernatural abilities.
5. Since they come from another world - one without Jesus - we could assume that the emergence of “aliens” would be seen as supreme evidence disproving biblical Christianity and creation. They may even claim to BE gods - the ones who created us. Or they may claim to be further “evolved” than we are - thereby disproving the existence of God for many.
Those are just a few thoughts. There is more than just a little speculation involved, but it seems like the pieces would fit. It seems to me that the last thing a demon would appear as would be a demon. What could be better than a super-evolved, altruistic, mystic alien race to guide us away from God’s word?... I’m just sayin’

But on the other hand, they are too smart to entertain the existence of God.
I would say that they have to have advanced as far in the humanities, as they have in the technical sciences to have survived evolutionary periods like the one we're currently in.
It's my guess that most advanced civilizations blow themselves up at the point where they develop atomic weapons.
Any society that has the technical knowledge and know-how to navigate the galaxies has to have learned a great deal about spiritual matters, and overcome the worst of their basest instincts. I believe those two things have to go hand in hand.
However, there is a way for a less-advanced race to wind up star traveling, and that is where they've obtained star traveling technology without developing it themselves.
We see this same phenomenon occurring right here on earth, where backwards, near-primitive cultures are suddenly thrust into the space age by contact with high tech nations.
The most glaring example of this (to my mind) is the Arab peoples. They mostly went from being nomadic Bedouins and sheep herders, to denizens of the modern age, overnight, when oil was discovered in their countries.
It's no wonder that even with billions of petro dollars flooding into their countries, and modern tools of civilization at their disposal, they yet behave in a crippled, backward manner.
Look at them. They're warlike, and tribalistic - fearful and distrusting of modern western culture. Obviously, their religion is chiefly responsible for that attitude, but look at how they use modern technology. Oftentimes, they use it for warlike purposes.
A space-faring culture that isn't advanced enough to develop the technology of interstellar flight could still easily wind up in possession of it.
I don’t know about aliens but one night my wife woke up out of a nightmare to what she described as a dark demon with white eyes and white teeth inches from her face laughing. She says she began praying and the thing slank away and disappeared. I dong know what to think of this she has never had this kind of thing happen before and has never been one to “see things”. I did find that others had reported similiar encounters when researching it.
I theorize that they keep us under surveillance as a protective measure - not sure for us or for them and the "neighborhood."
Are they maybe assigned to watch without interfering unless we get too dangerous to ourselves and the planet we live on?
If so, and we reach for the weapons that may not only do our 'enemies' in, but do irrefutable harm to the planet that may adversely affect our solar system - maybe beyond - will they step in and stop us?
And if they step in, will it be to help us 'see the Light"? or to take action that insures we will not, in the future, ever be able to upset the applecart?
And if the latter - will they take us Conservatives outta here to a better, saner place?
eeeee...that thing creeps me out.
