My liberal friend Pam and I are a perfect example of the class warfare currently being waged in America between the 'haves' and the 'have nots.' Also known as 'the war against the rich,' or, in a nutshell, socialism.
Though Pam and I are lifelong friends, we couldn't be more different. Pam is the quintessential liberal, quick to espouse views that show America in a bad light. Sarah Palin is evil, Bush is bad and anyone (like myself) that doesn't base their decisions on feelings is, well, just plain uncompassionate. End of story. I, on the other hand, am a traditional, conservative Christian.
Though conservatives have yet to be included under the leftist's much vaunted 'tolerance' and 'multicultural' umbrellas, Pam has decided that she will tolerate her renegade friend, as long as that friend doesn't publicly air any conservative views. Which is becoming a problem for our friendship.
Pam is the product of government schools and a culture that ignores merit in favor of any perceived underdog or victim. She is the proud owner of a Masters Degree, which, according to her, validates all of her leftist views - regardless of any facts to the contrary. And its not her fault that, at the ripe age of 57, she has yet to pay off the student loans that paid for her education.

She not really your friend.
“My liberal friend Pam and I...”
If you are a true conservative, you are deluded. Starting with a faulty premise. Conservatives can tolerate liberals; they can not reciprocate. They don’t think you are wrong, they think you are evil. Scrape them off...
Had a friend like this once. Wanted to start putting topics “off limits” to discuss. The list would have been sure to keep growing. If you can’t honestly tell people you think what they are doing is wrong and/or dangerous to themselves in certain cases, they really don’t want you as a true, sharing friend. They want you to be something you’re not. They want you as a compartmentalized friend who never irritates or questions anything they’re doing.
Best to be honest with them that by their own words, they are the ones rejecting your friendship by placing artificial restrictions of ‘taboo topics’ out there. You’ll never know if what you’re going to say will tick them off and now we have a new off-limits topic.
Take something from the liberal that she really values and give it to a homeless person.
When she protests, just tell her that you are redistributing wealth to those who really need it.
I have such liberal friends one is Muslim a convert. She likes to wave around her Masters degree while she still works at Krogers.
She’s a Leftists not a Liberal because Leftists hate liberty.
Pam doesn’t need to worry about her student loans. Somehow I think we, the taxpayers will end up paying them off.
As for basing opining on feeeeeeeeeeelings, that's what got us into this current debacle. People voted for Obama because they wanted the Kodak Moment of a person of color in The White House
It certainly wasn't because of any of his accomplishments either as a State or US Senator. I know of none.
I know this feeling between friends. I think whatever views sustains the leftist`s life is, in someways, good. People need to believe in something. There is nothing Nancy can do but find common ground on another topic. Nancy is smart enough to know that Pam will not change her political stripes, that it is like talking about two different religions people have committed their lives to. Politics in this sense transcends reason. So if there is something to value in Pam, then value that, and stay clear of politics.
“It certainly wasn’t because of any of his accomplishments either as a State or US Senator. I know of none.”
Yep. I would like to see:
1. Grade Schhol records
2. High School records
3. Occidental College records
4. Columbia University records
5. Columbia thesis
6. Harvard Law School records
7. Harvard Law Review articles
8. Articles from the University of Chicago
9. Passport History
10. Medical records
11. Files from his years as an Illinois state senator
12. Illinois State Bar Association records
13. Baptism records
14. Adoption records.
15. Birth Certificate.
I saw W’s dental records from the ANG for cripes sake.
“So if there is something to value in Pam, then value that, and stay clear of politics.”
Interesting idea, but really...if I know someone with whom I need to “steer clear” of certain discussions, they are not friends; they are acquaintances.
WOW sounds like my liberal relative. She can say what she wants until I argue, then I am accused of being argumentative and defensive, and she’ll say she is not talking about the subject any longer. If I try to pursue it, I am the one being antagonistic and causing trouble.
I know a lot of them like that. My older sister can't get enough of that kind of emotional nonsense.
What you don't understand is the Liberalism is a Religion, and your are speaking BLASPHEME!
Facts do not matter, nor does history, or critical thinking. All that matters is the feeling of doing good. Liberal NEVER own up to the consequences. They sow destruction and blame someone else. Just look at the illegal alien in the White House.
The reason I say stay clear is that there won’t be any resolve. So why go there and rehash familiar territory, unless you both enjoy debating? I don’t always have to have full agreement to have friends and they do know where I stand. We can enjoy each others company on other topics.
I don’t need the intellectual exercise.
