The Battleground Poll and the Hiding Elites
The American Thinker ^ | April 15, 2010 | Bruce Walker

The April 2010 Battleground Poll results have just been released. The poll contains the usual list of topical questions, which ask respondents about which political party they support, what issues are most important to them, what they think of certain political personalities, etc. The answers to these questions matter in the short run, and political junkies pay close attention to these polling results.

There is, however, an old familiar story in the Battleground Poll. This question goes directly to the core beliefs of the respondent, not how politicians, parties, and pundits are spinning the politics of the day. Question D (3) in the Battleground Poll asks what ought to be the most important question about America -- what are the political values of Americans? This is a question almost never asked by polling organizations.

The American Thinker needs an editor and proof-reader. This is garbled.

What people call themselves doesn't mean much. When the majority in this country votes liberal, the majority is liberal. Over the last two elections the majority of this nation went home to mama and papa.

Why would a liberal reporter reprt such nonsense as a poll result that mocks reality? I know reality and news reporting seldom ride the same transport, but, still, why would he?

This nation won't survive unless the voters change. There is the tiniest indication in a pocket here and there that suggests optimism. Still, the poll that counts won't be taken for another seven months, in other words, an eternity. A few optimistic indicators such as the running out of RINOs in primaries would be good. Nevertheless, if the liberals aren't swept in November, in a way that makes 1994 look really tame, the nation is finished.

Even if the nation does that and doesn't follow up with more of the same every cycle, or if clowns like the last Republican leadership with any authority get swept in, it's over.

I'm not worried about this. I'm scared down to my socks.

Another way to note the same thing is to consider the concensus that we are a “center-right” country. If the scale we were using reflected the views of the country, we would by definition be a “center” country. But we use the scale of the left-leaning politico-Establishment elite, and as a people we come out on the right end of that measure.

My second job is at t survey research center. I can tell you with authority that 7 in 10 self-identified ‘Democrats’ can’t define Liberal and don’t know it’s different from Conservative, can’t make a sentence with a subject and predicate, don’t know who Joe Biden is, can’t name ONE supreme court justice, etc. .... and don’t care. They only know that they make demands and their demands are being met. This will not change.

If you are throwing T bone steaks at a Bengal tiger, do you think he is going to go away?

Why don’t Conservative politicians learn something here? Make promises and then actually DELIVER on your promises! What a novel idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!
