VANITY: I HATE Brusells Sprouts

They're just all slimy and gross. I like most other veggies, but Brussells sprouts are disgusting.

I was wondering how Chard is considered food

My Italian mother-in-law chops it fine, mixes it with grated Parmesan, and uses the mixture to fill homemade raviolis. Cook it up, melt butter over them and sprinkle some more Parmesan on top. Simply heavenly.

I’ll go with okra, a close relative of raw oysters.

Anything is palatable with enough salt and tabasco.

I first read that as "salt and tobacco" and thought, okay.........

It would be something to try. Especially flower beds. It’s pretty in landscaping instead of mulch that has to be replaced after awhile.

Try your Brussels sprouts roasted in some olive oil.

Cut the sprouts in half, and mix them in a bowl with 3 tbsp olive oil, a teaspoon of kosher salt and some freshly ground black pepper. Put them on a cookie sheet in the preheated oven (400 degrees) and roast for 35-40 minutes. I like mine when they are crispy outside, they taste just like french fries.

Delicious.

Slow pan braising in olive oil, with maple syrup and other spices, until they are caramelized and chewy... Mmmmm, yum.
