If you don’t buy health insurance you lose your tax refund

IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman said yesterday that the IRS will confiscate or reduce any individuals tax refund if they do not purchase health insurance.

What tax refund? I always work it so that there is no refund, I usually pay in. Anyone can do this, so the plan of “don’t get health insurance”, “Pay the fine”, “sign up when I get sick “ is sill the cheapest way to go.

They will eventually need to ramp up the threats/penalties, but so far they have not hit on a punitive/effective set of rules.

I am closing one down right now, and looking at alternatives to close two other banks. I am preparing for the worst. May keep one in place with a small balance that minimizes what the Federal Government can take from me without asking.

Lose the IRS by passing The Fair Tax Act(HR25/S296). It will replace all federal income taxes with a national sales tax and abolish the IRS! Fair Tax ping!
