VIDEO: Texas Police Advise Ranchers To Arm Themselves On The Border

Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard believes that the murderer behind the shooting of rancher Robert Krentz was "most likely a scout employed by Mexican drug syndicates to look out for law enforcement" as reported by Dennis Wagner for The Arizona Republic: "I hope this is a wake-up call to people in the United States that there are very sophisticated cartel operations going on in both this country and in Mexico."

Meanwhile, Texas law enforcement is advising ranchers and farmers along the border "to arm themselves as signs across northern Mexico point to a new escalation of violence" as reported by Alfredo Corchado for The Dallas Morning News.

Across West Texas, worries abound of possible Easter weekend massacres in tiny Mexican communities butting up against Texas. In Hudspeth County, near El Paso, Chief Deputy Mike Doyal said Thursday that his "deputies are on high alert, 24-7," for any sign of "a spillover of violence." * * * He said he has four of his 15 deputies on duty in Fort Hancock, up from the lone deputy who normally patrols the community. Earlier in the week, the Sheriff's Department held a community meeting in which authorities advised residents, "If you're out on the fields, arm yourself," Doyal said.

Sounds like a good business in Arizon would be some signs, NO TRESPASSING in English and in Spanish, advise them before hand that those who violate private property rights are subject to being shot....that almost sounds American.

We should deport or imprison all illegals, seal the border and shoot anyone who tries to cross back in, especially if they sneak onto private property. It’s time to send the roaches home and keep them there.

Don’t worry. BO/BS and Janet Napolitano are monitoring the situation.

In other words, we aren't going to do squat about it, citizen.

Maybe a job market here. Not that I would necessarily want to charge people to defend them but having been out of work for a long time there may be some security work down there.

Just a thought. It sucks our bastard @$$ government cant seem to help.

Could individuals take the government to court and sue them for protection? For not doing what they have sworn to do?

hate to double tap this thread but I had a thought that I didn’t finish.

If it was shown that anyone was killed by an INVADER or that and INVADER was captured or killed while trying to do harm to an AMERICAN, wouldn’t that compel The government to do something?(I know I am thinking in fantasy land)

De Plane Boss, De Plane!

I sadly predict that by the end of the summer, Mexican drug cartels will be openly shooting it out with our Border Patrol agents and crossing into the border on their own free will.

The Feds have made it clear since 1986 (and before) that they refuse to protect the border. The federal government is a wholly owned subsidiary of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and groups like La Raza.

Unless you are deaf, the Feds have said repeatedly and loudly, “Screw You!”

It’s hopeless. I feel for Americans along the border these days.

Please someone refresh my memory. several years back an Arizona (I believe) rancher shot trespassing illegals. After the courts were done the illegals owed his ranch. does anyone else have a better recall of this incident?

I’m glad to see LEO’s telling us we can protect ourselves. I pray the courts agree.

I don’t remember anyone being shot but simply detained. He (I believe in Texas) was convicted on a couple of charges and the judge gave his ranch to illegals. The judge said “F@ck You” to anybody who thinks they are going to protect their property.

If any illegal gets shot on the border, there will be hell to pay in the court system. You wait...

In Texas deadly force is legal if you feel yourself, family or property are theatened. If I had a ranch on that border I’d have all my hands armed with the order to shoot to kill. This rancher getting killed convinces me that anyone on my land is there to do arm.

I’m afraid if the troops are ever put on the border they’ll be carrying guns with no clips. Just like in the airports after 911.

“Please someone refresh my memory. several years back an Arizona (I believe) rancher shot trespassing illegals. After the courts were done the illegals owed his ranch. does anyone else have a better recall of this incident?”

One rancher lost in a lawsuit brought by aliens but he didn’t shoot at them, his dog snarled at them, that’s all it took.

Remember the kid who was beaten in Cancun the other day? It was more than interesting how Mexico treated that....

An American Family’s Cancun Horror
Michelle Malkin
[snip]
Zucker’s New Jersey-based parents strongly suspect foul play and random violence. But the American consulate told the family there will be no investigation, and Zeke’s parents say the Mexican police didn’t even bother to meet with them.

Mexican consulates on American soil are famous for vigorously intervening on behalf of their illegal alien citizens — lobbying to get them driver’s licenses, bank accounts and health care, for example, and rushing to defend illegal alien border-crossers arrested in reckless- and drunk-driving cases.

Where are our U.S. lawmakers to put pressure on our U.S. State Department to get to the bottom of the Ruckers’ Cancun horror?

For now, the family is focused on nursing Zeke back to health. He remains in a coma under heavy sedation after undergoing emergency surgery in Mexico to remove a hematoma in his brain. During that surgery, he suffered an infection that has left him with a raging fever and complications. Zeke was flown to Miami’s Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital for top-notch care. But not without difficulty.

Zeke’s aunt, Jodi, related the Ruckers’ hellish experience transporting her nephew out of the violence-wracked country: “The air ambulance team is made up of ex-military men who have done evacuations out of many countries. They say that Cancun is one of the most difficult places to get out of. The air ambulance team when landed in Mexico was surrounded by military with guns drawn that then searched the plane.”

The Ruckers hired a “handler,” who “basically gives the Mexicans American cash for their plane to land and take off safely. It’s called ‘greasing the monkey.’ (Zeke’s father) was getting anxious because of the amount of guns and men surrounding the plane, and the pilot told him not to worry because ‘they greased this monkey (plane) good.’ They were allowed to take off about an hour later. Corruption is abundant there.”

Adding to the emotional strain and bureaucratic headaches: The Mexican hospital that treated Zeke demanded upfront payment for all of the costs related to his care, surgery and stay before allowing him to leave. Can you imagine the international uproar if a U.S. hospital demanded the same of Mexican citizens in their care? The Ruckers’ insurer here in the States was able to change the terminology of Zeke’s airlift from “transport” to “evacuation” in order to cover those costs.

Terry Goddard is someone who long ago passed his political "Best before..." date.

We could secure our borders and someone like Maricopa county Sheriff Joe Arpaio should be put in charge of getting it done. For some unknown reason, we prefer the wide open border and the consequences regardless of what the Constitution and common sense dictates.

There is an LE in my family. When he detains illegals and informs the INS he is told to cut them loose. INS says they don't have time to deal with them. Isn't that nice? Our LEs catch them but can't do anything with them expect put them in jail for a few days.
