In a surprising, yet reassuring turn of events, Pope Benedict XIV, the head of the Catholic Church has announced that he is willing to excommunicate any and all Catholic Priests who have been rightfully accused of pedophilia while in service to the Catholic Church.
"It is my sworn duty to uphold the tenants of the faith which rest securely on the never changing, holy scripture, which speaks succinctly, yet passionately, against sexual sin within the body of Christ." Pope Benedict wrote in a letter addressed to "Fellow Catholics, Christians, and citizens of this great planet." ...

MY vitriolic posts?
I don’t recall running into you before so I will check your posting history.
So being a freeper “in good standing” depends on how much you donate?
PS - My original signup date is before yours anyway - had to change screen name due to reasons known to JR.
;-)
I read some of your comments on other topics - and apparently you seem to be sort of normal other than your insane hatred of the Catholic Church.
Your accusation to me and to others that we support or are fine with child rape and molestation is offensive, completely untrue and indicative of deep psychological problems. I hope you seek help.
BTW - I’ve been either helping with or running the Homosexual agenda ping list ever sinced I first signed up on FR. I’ve done a lot to bring the truth out about the evils of homosexual behavior and the lies of their agenda for 8 years. You, who are so concerned about homosexual molestation, are not on the ping list and I am totally unfamiliar with your name. So you apparently have no interest in the homosexual molestation of boys other than in connection with the Catholic Church.
So take your accusations against me - that I support homosexuals molesting children - and stuff ‘em.

If true, the heaping of guilt and shame upon the victim [playing the ‘Christian’ card] comes at no surprise to me. It’s not just the Pope/Catholicism...it’s played out time and again, regardless of denomination. Thankfully, this is no longer the God of my understanding.
Pope Benedict has led the fight to clean up the Church, successful in terms of the abuse scandal. In part by keeping homosexuals out of the priesthood.
This, I suspect is just one of the reasons the gay NYT has conducted their recent malicious slander campaign.
Defending the Pope against them is not the same as defending or condoning the abuse - in fact it is the opposite.
