Wow...I thought that language was offensive but it is in Obama census - so please enlight me here - what is a "negro"???

I just don't know. I don't know who the WHITE group is either.
Good thing I just put down the number of people and sent it back in.
This has nothing to do with the discussion but I used a sponge to moisten the envelope after I had two friends who threw up after licking it. I know I know it could be a strange coincidence to be sure, but decided not to take any changes.

The Senseless Bureau is using the word “Negro” because it’s Spanish for “black”.

I am a Dutch-American. Of course, I am no more Dutch than black people are African. It’s what I put on my last census and it’s what I’m putting on this one when it comes around.

I’m thinking about putting Amish heritage because my mother’s family were pioneers of Lititz, PA. The hill where the first ancestor settled is still named after him. I think this is a good time to claim Amish heritage.

Negro is what they called themselves before that term got ‘insulting’ to them, then there was ‘colored’, ‘black’
‘people of color’ and now ‘African Americans’.
