The Coffee Party is an attempt of the left to get back what is theirs and was lost in the arrogance and the hype of the first year of Obama in office.
The sweeping Democratic victory in’08 made their leaders insensitive to the folk’s concerns. People who voted for change and realized they got more of the same were chipping off the Democrat Party. The Reagan democrats, the independents were drawn into the tea party movement. The Coffee Party is the proof that Democrats finally realized the Tea Party is not a radical fringe movement, but a safe place for independents who do not like any of the establishment parties.........They hate corruption, arrogance. The only difference with the tea party is that the coffee drinkers like the social entitlements. They are the folks that want more health care entitlements, no cuts in any social programs and tax-credit welfare. The coffee party folks want fiscal responsibility and eliminating fraud and abuse (as the tea party folks do) – only they are not ready for tax-reforms like fair tax or flat tax that will make everybody to participate in the tax burden...The Coffee Party folks would rather get tax-cuts the Obama style (expanding tax Credits for poor and unemployment benefits).... It is the deficit of trust after Obama’s broken promises for change and the deficits in the budget that scares the hell out of the responsible folks that may keep the independents into the tea column until November. After that it will be up to the new Congress to serve the drinks and the taste of it will decide the next big movement for the 2012.
