HUGE drum set-up time lapse!

For any drummers out there: This is a time lapse video of Terry Bozzio's drum kit being set up at the One World Theatre in Austin. It's an older video, but it demonstrates the lengths some artists will explore to give their audience something they've not seen before and begs the question- "How much is too much?" I actually bought a Remo drum set from Terry many years ago and am still playing it to this day! Here is a photo of his drum kit:

Seems like too much to pack in the back of a VW bus.

I saw the Stray Cats in Houston last year.

4 piece: bass, snare high hat, crash. (what no 'tom'?)

It would take about 1/2 hour to get my drums set up AFTER I would get them out of the attic. :-)

I prefer the simple setup used by Guy Patterson of The Wonders.

He’s not fit to carry John Bonham’s drum sticks

I’ve played for a church praise band for about 15 years now and am able to leave my drums in the sanctuary permanently. Don’t mind at all and I get to play at least twice a week!

Actually Terry Bozzio can blow most drummers out of the water. With respect to John B., he was one of a kind. Actually even the late Jeff Porcars (Toto) “stole” a few tricks from him!

Funny how the big kits use to be popular...lately you see a return to a 4 piece and a couple of crash cymbals and one ride like in the old days...:o)

Signed: Pearl 9 piece down to a 4-piece....

True, a competent drummer only needs a 3-piece to demonstrate his musical creativity quite adequately! Less is more! Again, Terry Bozzio was exploring a different level of percussive experimentation more than he was showing off!
