"It's not a perfect bill," Brown said after the vote. "I was comfortable with that vote... It is the first step in creating jobs, not only for the people of Massachusetts but for the people of the country.

No doubt about it. The New York Times and Washington Post will feature stories about how much Senator Brown “has grown” since moving to Washington!

What really is the difference between the people of Massachusetts, which I have only visited a few times on business, and Texas, where I live? My perception is that there really is a general fundamental attitudinal divide modulo the exceptions in both states.
Is the acceptance of liberalism in the Bay State rooted in demographics? Is it the educational system? Is it cultural and passed along from parents to children? To be sure, there are pockets of liberalism here in Texas (Austin for example) but what are the factors that year after year cause the people Massachusetts to lean left?
