Maybe she was bending overboard trying to be truthful without appearing to be an extremist. She may have a few “questions” about government involvement or negligence re. 9-11 and hasn’t really researched the matter very much. She is, as she stated, running for a state position, not federal, so does 9-11 conspiracy theory really make that much difference in her case?

If she really feels some sympathy for trutherism she might have said something like “there are still some people who question whether the Roosevelt administration had advance knowledge of the Pearl Harbor attack and questioning things is not un-American” but instead she turned into a motor mouth trying to make excuses fr herself.

She’s not a smoothie, that’s for sure, but who wants that type of politician anymore? She may have some kookie ideas but she believes in conservative government and seems to dislike lying, so I have a hard time condemning the lady for what she said to Beck.

Beck, BTW, keeps saying that he was not going to endorse candidates but he sure did his best to end Ms. Medina’s chances. Plus he talked down Kay Bailey Hutchinson (”not impressed”) and built up Rick Perry.

Do you consider people who simply wonder whether the Bush administration did enough to prevent the 9-11 attacks (and Clinton’s as well) to be “abhorrent?” I really don’t see where that line of questioning is any different than the Republicans going after Obama’s national security apparatus for letting the crotch bomber fall through the cracks.

Don’t even try to compare accusing the government of deliberately murdering 3000 of its people to whether its intelligence and operations are effective for dealing with this type of threat. Truthers see our governmet and terrorists as one in the same with their motives. Infact they see the government as the actual terrorists while the ones who actually caused the damage escape blame.

I’ll make this clear as I can. Anyone that believes that garbage or even flirts with those who do is dead to me and most conservatives. Anyone who thinks they can use the Tea Party movement to peddle it is going to be run out. Period.

She is also running Spanish ads. Hello Mrs.Medina! If they cannot speak English then they have no business voting IMO. When they learn English then let them vote. Assimilate. Learn English. Appreciate all America gives you.

So I’m sure she is blowing a lot of hot air just like Obama did just to get elected. Running those ads and saying what she has, tells me the border issue is just a try to get votes for herself.

Medina is about as qualified to be Governor as zero was to be President- want to re-visit how that is working out? She's a Libertarian running on the Republican ticket. She is supported by the Ron Paul worship crowd and she herself has acted in the Ron Paul worship capacity. She has demonstrated a lack of knowledge about Texas law and current ballot initiatives.

No, thanks, I’ll stick with ‘ol RINO Perry. Texas has remained in better shape than almost any if not all of the states in the union under Perry's watch. As someone said, 'he's the devil we know'.

I’m not condemning her, except to say that in the media drenched culture in which politics occurs today, she needs to understand how to do an interview. I agree that she was a motormouth in the interview, and as I mentioned before, she needs to learn how to listen when doing an interview.

I think Beck went into the interview a dedicated Perry supporter. Beck just doesn’t understand how disconnected the rugged looking, conservative sounding Perry that Beck has been around is from the semi-RINO governor that Perry actually is. Perry is kind of like the oranges in the supermarket that have been dyed to conceal the fact that they were picked when not ripe. Tree-riped fruit without dye doesn’t sell so well even though it tastes better because it doesn’t “look pretty.” That, unfortunately, is a metaphor for our political culture, even among conservatives.

I was giving Medina a serious look and I liked what I saw. I didn’t think she had a chance to win before the second debate but when her poll numbers jumped up to nearly even with KBH, I thought she may at least give Perry a hard fight.

I like Rick Perry. I can’t stand KBH. I don’t trust Medina now.

Texas is too powerful economically and politically to take a chance with someone who would even consider entertaining the Truthers for the sake of votes.

Perry said, "Today's comments were an insult to the thousands of Americans who lost loved ones on 9/11 and the military men and women who are overseas protecting our country. I agree with you about Perry. He talks a good game but his actions have not matched his words.

Beck did two things that I really can’t stand in that “interview” with Medina: 1)he went against his own promise not to endorse candidates because by leading Medina into a trap about trutherism with the Perry supporter, he essentially threw his support to Perry.(he bad-mouthed Hutchinson as well) 2)he used Alinskyite ridicule against a neophyte female candidate, which really pissed me off. Beck attacks Alinskyism all the time but there he was engaging in insane laughter against a woman who had just said enough to disqualify herself in the eyes of most Texans. The mockery with Pat Gray and the other guy was complete overkill and extremely ungentlemanly(I realize it makes me an antique but a gentleman doesn’t humilliate a lady like that. I’d get mad about it if he did it to Hillary, let alone that poor rookie).

The problem is that some conservatives are so defensive about Bush that for anyone to even suggest that there was a lapse in national security that lead to 9-11, the person suggesting that is lumped with the hard-core truthers who think Bush and/or Cheney bossed the attacks.

One is far, far different from the other. But there are a whole lot of people on this forum who refuse to recognize that.

If that makes me “dead” to you, I really don’t give a damn.
That position is completely reasonable.
