I’m not condemning her, except to say that in the media drenched culture in which politics occurs today, she needs to understand how to do an interview. I agree that she was a motormouth in the interview, and as I mentioned before, she needs to learn how to listen when doing an interview.
I think Beck went into the interview a dedicated Perry supporter. Beck just doesn’t understand how disconnected the rugged looking, conservative sounding Perry that Beck has been around is from the semi-RINO governor that Perry actually is. Perry is kind of like the oranges in the supermarket that have been dyed to conceal the fact that they were picked when not ripe. Tree-riped fruit without dye doesn’t sell so well even though it tastes better because it doesn’t “look pretty.” That, unfortunately, is a metaphor for our political culture, even among conservatives.
I agree with you about Perry. He talks a good game but his actions have not matched his words.
Beck did two things that I really can’t stand in that “interview” with Medina: 1)he went against his own promise not to endorse candidates because by leading Medina into a trap about trutherism with the Perry supporter, he essentially threw his support to Perry.(he bad-mouthed Hutchinson as well) 2)he used Alinskyite ridicule against a neophyte female candidate, which really pissed me off. Beck attacks Alinskyism all the time but there he was engaging in insane laughter against a woman who had just said enough to disqualify herself in the eyes of most Texans. The mockery with Pat Gray and the other guy was complete overkill and extremely ungentlemanly(I realize it makes me an antique but a gentleman doesn’t humilliate a lady like that. I’d get mad about it if he did it to Hillary, let alone that poor rookie).
