Mother Teresa is still inspiring…hate

US Postal Service (USPS) due to issue stamp commemorating Mother Teresa, the Freedom From Religion Foundation objects…

The FFRF was established in the USA which is a nation that was premised upon the concept of freedom of religious expression…

Now, note the logical steps which discredit [the FFRF’s] objection:

1) Criterion No. 6 states that stamps shall not be issued to various organizations.

2) But the organization Mother Teresa ran and was inextricably identified with Roman Catholicism, etc.

3) Therefore, her organization is not being honored on the stamp: Mother Teresa is being honored.

It is really as simple as that: her organization cannot be honored and it is not, she is being honored and thus, the FFRF’s objections are discredited, null and void…

Lastly, the FFRF objects to the Mother Teresa stamp because, she “infused Catholicism into her secular honors — including an ‘anti-abortion rant’ during her Nobel Prize acceptance speech.” Thus, the FFRF seeks to, “use this opportunity to enlighten friends and colleagues about the darker side of Mother Teresa's religious activism” which includes the “a disturbing, befogged religious rant.”

This is problematic for the FFRF because they supports the brutal, dismembering murder of healthy, beautiful, innocent and defenseless human babies. FFRF co-founder Dan Barker stated that “abortion is a blessing” and generally has a very low view of human dignity and worth, particularly with regards to babies in the womb.

Mother Theresa is pro-life.

To the left, that is the only reason WHY she should not be honored with a US stamp.

Blessed are you when men persecute you,
and insult you,
and, speaking falsely, say all manner
of evil against you,
for My sake:
Rejoice and be glad,
because great is your reward in heaven,
for in the same way
they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

USPS to reprint poster that excluded Eid stamp

WASHINGTON - Due to an oversight at the U.S. Postal Service, an image of the Eid stamp, which commemorates two important Islamic festivals, was left off the promotional posters for its Holiday Stamps to be displayed in local post offices.

The USPS has decided to reprint the posters.

"The U.S. Postal Service today is reproducing its Holiday Stamp promotional posters in local post offices in response to recent concerns raised by the American Muslim community," said Azeealy S. Jaffer, vice president of public affairs and communications for the government agency.

"The Postal Service deeply regrets the oversight .

What is it with all the fancy stamps anyway? Why is a government agency spending our money making pretty things for people to collect and for various factions to argue about? How about just printing the denimination on the stamps and calling it good?

I am an unabashed admirer of Mother Teresa and her work and her words. I personally don’t want that cheapened by the issuing of this stamp. She is so far removed from the people and causes for which these stamps have been issued that there is an absurdity to it. Frankly, I seriously doubt whether she’d want or notice the so-called “honor” even if she were still among us. It’s like putting her picture and her “stats” on a baseball card.

The USPS collects more revenue when stamps are bought and unused. Stamp collectors have fun.

There was nothing wrong with it until politicizing everything and political correctness entered the picture.

The FFRF says they didn't object to the MLK or Malcolm X stamps because they weren't known mainly for religious acts. Here's my answer to that.

First...

Second, so basically, Mother Theresa is perhaps the most effective and non-judgmental humanitarian in the history of mankind and she is mainly known for religious acts. Hmmmmm...

While it is true that Blessed Mother Theresa of Calcutta will be Canonized a Saint, her image on a US postage stamp notwithstanding, I second the observation of ‘T Minus Four’ below, except I would print a 3D barcode along with the human readable stamp value and discount the stamp 3 cents because it then becomes functional.

‘What is it with all the fancy stamps anyway? Why is a government agency spending our money making pretty things for people to collect and for various factions to argue about? How about just printing the denimination on the stamps and calling it good?’

A lot of money to be made off of stamp collectors, I know, I used to be one.
