The New Jersey Star-Ledge is reporting that police have apprehended one Lloyd Woodson, 43, of Reston, Virginia who had a grenade launcher and a weapons cache secreted in a Somerset County motel.

When arrested, Woodson was wearing a "military-style ballistic vest with a reinforced steel plate and carrying a .223-caliber assault rifle that had been altered to fire .50-caliber ammunition."

How does one alter a .223 calibre assault rifle so it can fire 50 calibre bmg rounds?The pressures on the barrel of that weapon would be so great that the weapon would not only be dangerous to its target.It would be dangerous to the shooter as well.

I would guess that this was a AR-style rifle chambered in .50 Beowulf. Remember, if a journalist is writing about firearms, the information is probably incorrect.

ALL of the media should be looking into this ... NY Times, CNN, cBS, Wash Post, etc.
The problem is that FOX is the only one who would do it.

Navy record is new info. Where was he for those EIGHT years? Is he a MOOSLIM? Did he have a job? If not where did his money come from? What was it that was suspicious, that prompted calling police? How the heck did he almost get away? Maybe that handcuffing thing while questioning a suspicious person would have been helpful here. Just wondering.
