Why does Obama's signature have a "slashed zero"? (Vanity)

Have you noticed Obama's signature ... it actually has a slashed zero in it. I wonder if this is why folks nickname him "zero?" Also, it doesn't say much for a presidential signature to have it "representing" a "null value.
