Glenn Beck on his radio program relates that Martin Luther King was a socialist.
Well said! Dr Martin Luther King Jr was not a socialist, he was smart enough to realize that the only way to true freedom was to be independent of the government.
______________
I appreciate it — but later in King’s life, he DID embrace the sociaklist ideology. Never the violence, but the philosophy, yes. That isn’t to say he was a full-fledged revolutionary communist. In fact, his essay entitled “Why I Am Not A Communist” is quite good. Nevertheless, he did move toward a political socialism in later years. Where he might have ended up — moderating or becoming more radicalized, we will never know.
Nope.
Quite some time ago I read that MLK palled around w/ communists & that they were an important part of the “Civil Rights” movement. Are either one of those correct???
