I don't want Sarah to campaign for McCain because I care about her, what she stands for, and conservatism. Read my argument before calling me names, please.

Very thoughtful, but this time Sarah is in the drivers seat.

They can’t stop her now, no WAY!!! For that matter, they cannot stop “we the People’ either. Tuesday proved that

Sarah Palin is a free agent.

She is also a savvy politician.

This will cause her to lose ground with hard-line conservatives like me, but that is part of her calculus at this time. She is aware of it.

I’m sure she has her reasons, but, from my perspective, there is no excuse. McCain’s “people” mistreated her and her family, and continue to do so to this very day.

Why she has anything at all to do with that nest of vipers has me stumped, but she’s a big girl. She must believe that the hits she takes will be worth the result she is seeking.

My concern with Palin is her accepting the VP nomination with a socialist light McCain sent the signal she was willing to cede at least some of her Conservative principles to some degree. Campaigning for McCain reinforces that mixed message.

Yes she should.

Every political favor she does now will be paid off later with support for own campaigns, whatever they may be.

Agree 100%, McCain did not see fit to protect her against the hatred directed at her not only by the Democrats but some within his campaign as well.

For all the reasons you cite and then now we have this

Sarah needs to VERT SERIOUSLY reconsider her announcement to support the man who didn’t have the cajones to lead his own campaign which resulted in the trashing of a fine conservative woman. The most she should do in the Arizona Senate race is not to support anyone at all.

McCain’s “people” mistreated her and her family, and continue to do so to this very day.

This is the disconnect..... I simply can't reason out her overt support of McCainiac......especially in light of the internal squabble inside the McCain household...where his wife and daughter support overturning the will of the people of California...re the gay marriage thang-a-ma-bobs.

She will get burned!

Let's not becoming a mirror of 0bama's worshipers. Many (most?) of them see 0bama the way they want him to be, not who he actually is (in the case of 0bama, he seems to see himself the way his worshipers see him).

Well, I don’t know about the signal you say she was setting with the move to accept the VP nomination, we would be in worse circumstance as a country without the thought of her being out there representing conservatism. I am sick of liberal Republicans using conservatives to get elected, and I don’t want Sarah to reinforce the idea that in the end, it is all about politics and not about philosophy.

One does not get elected alone. One does not ride into Washington and take over the place single handed. One succeeds by crafting alliances; some of them with some pretty questionable characters. Sarah Palin would still be in Alaska were it not for McCain. She owes him.

Politics is a cesspool.

So you're basically saying..."politics, as usual" will work for Palin. I don't think so, and if you really believe that, there's a bridge in Brooklyn....

If Sarah campaigns for John McCain she will lose my support and I'm no hardcore conservative. I will just not tolerate any more rino's unless they let conservatives lead them. However, it's way too late for McCain he's proven he is a backstabbing prick and does not deserve any conservative or republican support. I want his ass politically gone for good!

This news is absolutely regretful a DAY after the huge victory in Mass. Don't be stupid Sarah! Of all people, Don't you get the message of the Tea Parties???

Study SarahPAC and then try to square this decision. I have $25/month automatically going to her PAC and will wait until she makes her address to the Tea Party Convention to determine if I continue to do so.

Looks like Jim DeMint’s new PAC might be the logical place to divert that money to.

By supporting McCain Palin garners his support in 2012, or at the very least he won't work against her.

She also checks McCain's former campaign staff in the process. Steve Schmitt and Nichole Wallace are on their own and McCain won't back them up.

I think this is a shrewd, deliberate, and pragmatic move by SP.

She says she's going to campaign for McCain. And, if memory servers, for any other candidate who shares her conservative values. So how does that change how you feel about her?

I wanted to make sure people did not see me as a Palin basher for disagreeing with her on substance.

He owes it to Arizonans to stand on his own two feet and explain his voting record and philosophy.
