Just my humble opinion... Pat Robertson gets my vote for 2010's "Caput Capitis in Rectum" Award!

This is what gives conservatism (and Christianity) a bad name.

Drudge headline is Biblical Damage. Given the choice I still would listen to Pat Robertson over Owl Gore.

He made some sort of a comment about God punishing Haiti. Would he have made the same comment if a 8.9 hit Alaska? And they have and they will again.

Pat should get of his pompous fat A## and fly down to one of the Haiti Missions where real Christians could use some help.

Is Obama sending help to the Dominican Republic?

Hati is only 1/2 the nation. Robertson was always a little off the deep end and an opportunist.

Pat Robertson is an idiot - but this blogpost, as well as all the other attention - help to enable it.

Remember, he operates on the premise that “all publicity is good publicity.”

So agree.

Instead he's going to ask his followers to send money so he can continue to sit on his azz and feed his fat ego.

Lord knows, he ought to have enough cash on hand from his blood-diamonds dealings to do something more useful that flap his gums....

I don't think that most of the people being critical of Mr. Robertson actually have watched the video in it's entirety. Mr. Robertson was asking his viewers to donate money for the people of Haiti. His observation was that they have faced many disasters and lived under appalling conditions for centuries. He made reference to an actual historical event as to a possible explanation which anyone with access to a computer or library can easily look up.

I have tried to make light of his observation myself, but anyone who believes in God looks for reasons for natural disasters. He has shared this same type of observation in the past on numerous occasions; I am sure he knew that he would get criticism on this occasion also. I admire him for having the courage to speak his mind despite knowing what the consequences would be and also for being at the head of a very effective and efficient charity.

Don't you mean “Haiti is 1/2 of the island?”

The name of the island is Hispaniola.

I think it should be “Caput capitis in recto” - ablative case is required by “in”

He said that Haiti should pray and return to God.

Any objections to that?

I am no supporter of Pat Robertson but anyone who actually listens to what he said about Haiti, can’t possibly fault him for it.

He asked all of us to pray for the people of Haiti, and for the country to turn back to loving God.

The liberals are doing what they always do - distorting a Christian message for their own political purposes.

Again, I am NOT a Robertson supporter...

Ecastor!

“Paterfamilias” = “father of the family”.

Non sum puella.

I’ve never understood how there is a virtual pipeline of endless DR shortstops being fed into MLB, and just a few miles away, no professional Haitian ballplayers EVER
