Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll would have been 75 years old today. A gyrating young truck driver, who blended Hillbilly and Blues turned the world of music upside down when he burst onto the national scene in 1956. Music would never be the same. Happy Birthday Elvis, you old nut!
I was an Elvis nut. What impressed me as I grew older was how he treated his Mom. It was sad to see how his life ended.
I found a pair of white suede shoes at a Salvation army center...50 cents. I was so proud...They weren’t blue...but they meant Elvis!!
The man could sing some gospel. Love listening to Elvis. It is sad the way he ruined his life.
Elvis b-day = BFD
75? That’s it?
Wow, he really did die young.
Some of his best came from old time gospel.

Deride and mock The King all you want, but name one entertainer today that personifies the American dream of rags to riches and gives his country all the credit. Can you? Name a celebrity today that served in the armed forces proudly? Give me the name of today’s star that donated vast amounts of his income to charity, particularly to military and law enforcement. Just tell me one person from Hollywood that treated his fans and his country with the respect Elivs did?
I’m waiting.

Elvis was given a true, rare gift from God, and that was his voice. There will never be another Elvis, and, IMO, no one before or after can equal his talent.
Sure, he got messed up with pills, and, what a shame it was. However, I believe he made his peace with God and is in heaven.
