Leaked out yesterday was information from a new classified Pentagon report saying more former detainees are returning to terrorist activity after being released to their home countries.
Geoff Morrell, press secretary for Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, told reporters at a Pentagon briefing Wednesday that the number has gone up since last year and added, "I don't think that trend has reversed itself." But Morrell would not go into detail about how much of an increase has been seen, because the report is classified, but the number leaked out was 20%.
The people released must be amongst the terrorists' best and brightest, because according to Congressman Mark Kirk (R-Ill) “All the major leaders” of the Taliban opposition in Southern Afghanistan are former Guantanamo prisoners who have been released.

Any ex-prisoner who has returned to the fight should be sweated for whatever information he has and summarily executed.

Oh yeah, I can see that. Being at Gitmo is like "special training" for al-Qaeda... and has the benefits of being promoted fast up the ranks.
It is not the policy of releasing Gitmo prisoners itself that is the problem here. It is the executon.
There is nothing wrong with releasing prisoners a few miles out of Guantanamo Bay, as long as the waters have been properly chummed shortly before the release. Televise the event on PPV and Gitmo will pay for itself.

For me, it goes far beyond Gitmo or the policies that this country has for fighting terrorism. It goes to the point of eliminating Islam from the United States and making it illegal as an organizational entity allowed to operate in this country. If this is not done, no matter who is in charge, and no matter what the this country's policies are on terrorism and no matter what happens with Gitmo -- the U.S. will be a Muslm nation in a matter of a generation, maybe two... guaranteed...
