That 46 million people figure is usually used by liberals and the lame-stream-media as their argument for more government control of our lives. But the figure is completely exaggerated.
When we breakdown their figure into different groups, this is what we got:
*10 million of the uninsured are illegal immigrants. *18 million people have a household income of over $50000 per year. *More than half of them have a household income of over $75000 per year. *14 million of the uninsured qualify for some kind of government insurance, they just havent applied yet.
This brings the liberals figure down dramatically, doesnt it?
46 million people = 33%. The actual figure is around 3%.
From what I hear, of those who maybe cannot get insurance or don’t qualify for some kind of government assistance, only a small fraction will actually receive some benefits under either plan. All the money will go to enrich the coffers of the President and members of Congress. It’s a sham, an extortion racket.
20 million illegal aliens are fine with letting you pay for their healthcare down at the ER. Nothing new in that.
It's a TAX bill!
The question is: How many people don’t receive Medical Care?? The answer is “0”.
George Will wrote a column stating that only 10 million people cannot afford insurance. If Tort Reform was passed it would buy insurance for those 10 million people.
No.
Precisely. Or put it this way, with a few exceptions, the ones who dont receive it, dont want it.
I hate when politicians use an individual story to make their point—bringing tears to the eyes of the liberal idiots.
Well, here is a story. I had a close friend. Through her own behavior and really bad genetics she found herself on disability, living in government housing and getting treatment for her degenerative bone disease from the state.
The state kept her in medication, food, housing, and paid for a very expensive operation (which DID work for a while.) She paid nothing. Nada.
She was unemployable and could not stand or sit for more than half an hour at a time. She was truly the uninsured and obviously with the pre existing conditions, she was uninsurable.
She was exactly the type of person they say we should be taking care of. And we did.
The people that are getting hurt by the insurance issue are the people who HAVE stuff that they have to get rid of before they can get on the medicare bandwagon.
So, as we protecting people’ stuff, or are we providing care for people that, quite frankly, they already get access to?
For most healthy people in their 20s to mid-30s, insurance is a boon: for the insurance companies. These people typically don’t need health care. If they do, it is probably of the infrequent/minor variety they can get from urgent care. If they get into a car accident, upping the medical coverage on their car insurance is probably a cheaper way to go.
Don’t confuse the issue by using facts. It just makes the libs angry. /s
American citizens??????NNNOOOO!
Ah to heck with it. Give all 46 million of them a million dollars and lets “forget” health care. Sure would be cheaper than what is proposed.
