Has the wailing and gnashing of teeth started on MSLSD yet?

I heard Brit say that and I agree with him 100%. Tiger Woods can be saved if he becomes a Christian! Good Idea, Brit!

"I think people should keep their religious beliefs to themselves. This has nothing to do with compassion."

I think you should keep your political beliefs to yourself. In fact....why not just keep all your opinions to yourself.

Completely unnecessary and vile.

Sorry you feel that way. It’s interesting how everyone read something different into what I said and completely missed the point.

looks like your comment about Brit Hume’s son rubbed a lot of people on this thread the wrong way and they are just calling you out on it.

everyone missed my point, and for that I am sorry. If you know me, you know that I didn’t mean it the way some here think I did. I’m just surprised Brit disparaged Buddhism like that in that context. My point is that I believe spirituality is what saves souls...and that only happens when one WANTS to change. Some don’t want to, some can’t, and some give up. That’s all.

And i think based on the posts to this thread that you misunderstood Brit’s point, much as you felt your comment was misunderstood. The poster, and i would have to scroll back to see and ping him, who was a convert from Buddhism, actually GOT Brit’s point, and elaborated on it. Brit wasn’t bashing Buddhism, he was merely intellectually distinguishing, as the poster did, between the tenets of the two religions, and pointing out that Christianity offers a redemptive approach, whereas Buddhism gives you lots of do-overs, which can lead those believers to continue the bad behavior.

Sorry Brit, I’m not going to forgive Tiger just because he joins the right team no more than I would forgive Obama if he found Christ.

Are you Tiger's wife? Some other connection? Why does Tiger need to ask you for forgiveness? Are you a Christian?

My point is that I believe spirituality is what saves souls.

Belief in and acceptance of the Savior, Jesus Christ is the only thing that saves souls.

What an out pouring of hatred for the message of forgiveness in Jesus Christ!

Incredible! What has happened to this country?

Does anyone recognize that God does not prescribe to mans opinion on anything but his Son.

Rejection of God’s Son Jesus Christ; which results in the rejection of the Holy Spirit, is the ONLY unforgivable sin
in the eyes of God.

Sorry, not my rules.

God does not care about any mans forgiving of Tiger Woods.

If Tiger truly asked for it, he would receive it.

I agree with Brit.

In my experience, absent a serious illness or religious conversion, by age 25 or so, character is fully formed and adults who are late 20’s or older do not change.

Conversion in these sorts of circumstances can be real (Chuck Colson) but it starts with genuine repentence, not some “rehab” based addiction counselling.

I would be very suspicious if Tiger suddenly “finds the Lord” and does an “I have sinned” tour on the evangelical talk show circuit.

It would take a multi-year change in behavior to convince me.

“Hitler was a christian(roman catholic,anyway).
So....how’d that work for ya?”

Do you really think being a member of any church makes one a Christian?

Hitler was a christian (roman catholic, anyway).

So....how'd that work for ya?

It sure worked out great for you in justifying that molotov cocktail you wanted to throw at Christianity anyway.

Your bigotry is easy to see through.

This is what I don’t understand. Brit demeans Buddhism, many on this board took the opportunity to use my Judaism against me, and the only thing you see is bigotry against Christianity. Interesting.
