A guy who was not supposed to be on an airplane tried to blow up a Northwest Airlines flight today on its way to Detroit. A 23-year-old Nigerian man tried to light a powdery substance aboard a Northwest Airlines flight before landing in Detroit on Friday. According to ABC News sources, the man claimed he was directed by al Qaeda to set off an explosion on the plane. Two people noticed the attempt ignite the device and a third person jumped on the man and subdued him. The man is being treated at the burn unit of the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, officials said.
The TSA issued a statement reading, in part: “All passengers have deplaned and out of an abundance of caution, the plane was moved to a remote area where the plane and all baggage are currently being re-screened. A passenger is in custody, and passengers are being interviewed.”

Sounds like great security measures overseas; this clown is on no-fly lists yet he makes it almost all the way to his destination with his intent concluded, but not to the degree desired. So much for the safety of us infidels. Wouldn’t be easier that the mohammedans just fly to whatever destination they are seeking, assuming they are allowed to, on their own airlines, and leave the rest of us 99% alone, without the necessary hassles and costs to “protect” us from the 1% of them who are allowed to fly? Then our security can just review “them” and leave the infidels to travel peacefully as they had prior.
The madness continues unabated; I suspect something will blow within the next few months to show our great and fearless leaders what they truly sought and successfully concluded regarding those jihadists seeking peace with the West; (given their religion is, afterall, a religion of peace and tolerance) everlasting dhimmitude.
He got off alot luckier than he would have if he pulled that stunt on a plane I am on. I carry a carbon fiber dagger with me on every flight. I have had no problems getting it through security. If I ever had to use it onboard a plane I would just say I disarmed whoever I was struggling with.
I seriously doubt that he is Al Qaeda. If he is, they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Their intelligence is good enough that they know passengers will not put up with crap. I am all for anyone who tries this stupidity being carted off the plane in a bodybag. I would ask the flight attendents to toss a couple of ham sandwiches in the body bag for good measure.
I can only imagine how disapointed our President must be at the impotence of a fellow Muslim.

See, the government really can keep us safe. I’m all for super bureaucracies now. If they want to take more of my rights away and harass and inconvenience me more at airports to keep these people off planes, I’m all for it.
