Why Governor Palin stepped down (and who was behind the attacks)

Gov Palin interview with Greta Van Susteren was probably one of her best interviews, in that interview Van Susteren asked Palin about resignation, quitting, ethic violations and the prospect of dealing with attacks in future political positions. This is to all of those hacks, the misinformed and the haters that hide their true intentions against Gov. Palin, and you know who I'm talking about.......here are excerpts.

PALIN: Because it was the best thing for the state of Alaska to be able to progress the conservative agenda up there without the distraction that the new normal in Alaskan politics had become where every time I turned around, there was a lawsuit or frivolous ethics violation charge.

And that was prohibiting my administration from doing the work for the people. It was costing the state millions of dollars, thousands of staff hours to fight these frivolous, adversarial, opposition-researcher efforts that were thrown at my administration while I was there.

And I was not going to run again for governor, so instead of hunkering down, quitting, basically, as a governor by sitting behind my desk and not doing anything, not speaking out for fear of having another ethics violation charge, I said no. They're not going to win and we're going to get out there and fight harder for Alaskans, fight harder for Americans by handing the reins over to our lieutenant governor for my last year in office. He'll progress the agenda. I will get out there and fight even harder."

NOTE: Alaska's ethic laws at the time don't protect their governor from personal bankruptcy defending frivolous suits, it was by this loophole where the attackers attacked, filing away one charge after another. Also it does not protect staff members from made up violation charges either and paying out of pocket expenses ( if you read Going Rogue, her administration staff was slowed down from their work because of FOIA paperwork constantly being requested). By law Palin nor staff had no real recourse to take action against the attackers. She stated above about opposition research which means dems and obama administration hacks and lawyers.

It’s Christmas Eve! I’m sure they’re in Church!

That gives “bible thumpers” a bad name!

Well those are the things I’m worried about. There has to be measures taken to ensure accountability in that arena. I think people overlook the potential for major voter/fraud corruption. If steps need to be taken to prevent an election steal, people need to start now.

I bet Rahm/Obama machine will assign ACORN-type people will be on the job infiltrating all the local polling places.

Not only that, they will be "Community organizing" welfare sows and homeless bums who aren't registered. Plus they will be stealing votes via absentee ballots and voting the dead.

The Black Panthers and SEIU thugs will probably be suppressing the vote at the polls as well.

Maybe so, maybe not, but it's all happened before.

That’s why we need to sing up to be precinct workers and poll watchers. At least sign-up with your local GOP and relate your concerns.

In Nov, 2008 election, I was too intimidated to vote at my polling place so I had to go to the courthouse to vote absentee. They said, “you can’t vote absentee.” I said, “well, I damn well can or you will have to escort me to my voting place.”

Perhaps she ought to read “The Art of War”; with appropriate adjustments, it may effectively counter Chicago thuggery.

There was an article on the net somewhere that compared Governor Palin's situation with the ethics charges to James T. Kirk's Kobayashi Maru test.

They both escaped a no-win scenario.

Right......I remember that now, they don’t in believe in no-win situations

And don’t forget this also:

Kirk: “My God Bones, what have I done?” —

McCoy: “What you had to do. What you always do. Turn death into a fighting chance to live.” —

Palin v. Obama in 2012 will be a referendum on whether America will return to a moral democracy or devolve into an elitist communist police state. Other than that, well, there won’t be much at stake.

Yeah, there’s a bunch of posters on this forum who appear to be clueless. My suspicion is that they are not clueless but have specific marching orders from whatever political camp they belong to, or are funded by.

And...she was reloading! You go girl! Palin 2012!

That was great strategy on her part. She took the time to write the book, she got her side of the story (the truth) out to the world and became a multi millionaire in the process. It's all good.

Can you imagine what the press would have done to President Bush if his Chief of Staff Carl Rove would have had published a book entitled “The Thumping” about how you take out political opponents? All I hear now are crickets .....

What exactly do you ask your city clerk? Do you ask if the voting machines have paper receipts? What if they say no, how do you go about getting voting machines replaced?
