Why Governor Palin stepped down (and who was behind the attacks)

Gov Palin interview with Greta Van Susteren was probably one of her best interviews, in that interview Van Susteren asked Palin about resignation, quitting, ethic violations and the prospect of dealing with attacks in future political positions. This is to all of those hacks, the misinformed and the haters that hide their true intentions against Gov. Palin, and you know who I'm talking about.......here are excerpts.

PALIN: Because it was the best thing for the state of Alaska to be able to progress the conservative agenda up there without the distraction that the new normal in Alaskan politics had become where every time I turned around, there was a lawsuit or frivolous ethics violation charge.

And that was prohibiting my administration from doing the work for the people. It was costing the state millions of dollars, thousands of staff hours to fight these frivolous, adversarial, opposition-researcher efforts that were thrown at my administration while I was there.

And I was not going to run again for governor, so instead of hunkering down, quitting, basically, as a governor by sitting behind my desk and not doing anything, not speaking out for fear of having another ethics violation charge, I said no. They're not going to win and we're going to get out there and fight harder for Alaskans, fight harder for Americans by handing the reins over to our lieutenant governor for my last year in office. He'll progress the agenda. I will get out there and fight even harder."

NOTE: Alaska's ethic laws at the time don't protect their governor from personal bankruptcy defending frivolous suits, it was by this loophole where the attackers attacked, filing away one charge after another. Also it does not protect staff members from made up violation charges either and paying out of pocket expenses ( if you read Going Rogue, her administration staff was slowed down from their work because of FOIA paperwork constantly being requested). By law Palin nor staff had no real recourse to take action against the attackers. She stated above about opposition research which means dems and obama administration hacks and lawyers.

VAN SUSTEREN: But the thing is you have got a lot of fans out here cheering for you. I think a lot of people are looking forward to seeing what your political future is, and one thing that lingers out there is that when it gets hot, when it gets heated, do you quit or are you tough?

PALIN: I am not a quitter. And it's like my dad said. I was not retreating. I was reloading. And that's exactly what I've been able to do.

And if I was still the governor today, I would be shackled by the adversaries, but those who were hell-bent on seeing personal destruction and personal bankruptcy of me and my family. That is why they kept finding one after another after another of these lawsuits and frivolous ethics charges. And we won one after another after another.

NOTE: Gov. Palin and her husband Todd combined made under 200,000 dollars at the time of her resignation, they personally had legal bills upwards to 500,000 and more frivolous lawsuits were expected. They also had taking out a second mortgage on their home.

VAN SUSTEREN: If they were to persuade you to run, or if you made the decision based on your family, how do you say when they start doing that personal destruction, because that's what's going to happen, that you could still overcome it the second time on a national scale?

PALIN: Is not the same scale, because in Alaska our administration is set up a little bit differently than anywhere else you're going to find in the country or the federal government where the governor is not protected by the department of law when these frivolous ethics violations charges are filed against you. I have to pay personally for the defense, and I am still paying personally for the defense of all the frivolity.

Those charges filed by fake people -- a fake British soap opera actress filed something against me and I am still paying the bill. I am still paying the bill to defend myself against stupid things like that.

NOTE: This is not a issue as president because the president is automatically defended by the solicitor general as well as the White House legal counsel. The president is protected from personal bankruptcy for charges that arise from doing their job. The point being is that Gov Palin job was being questioned like going to a pro-life meeting outside of her state or the issues arising of actually running for VP, which was one of the silliest ethic charges.

A INTERESTING NOTE IS THE FACT THAT A TIME MAGAZINE REPORTER STATED THAT WORD WAS GOING AROUND IN ALASKA THAT THE DEM LEGISLATORS WERE TOLD BY D.C. PEOPLE TO STOP WORKING WITH THE PALIN ADMIN. ALSO DURING THE DAYS AFTER PALIN ANNOUNCED THAT SHE WAS RESIGNING, HER LAWYER AND SOME STAFF MEMBERS STATED SPECIFICALLY ON LARRY KING THAT THEY BELIEVED THAT RAHM EMANUEL WAS BEHIND THE ATTACKS, THEY WENT NO FURTHER WITH THOSE COMMENTS.

Sounds like Alaska pretty much leaves its public officials no choice but the occasional murder ~ because that's what will ultimately happen.

Different people have different breaking points and the complainants who play this very risky game actually put their children, husbands, aged parents and other loved ones at very high risk.

Chicago style politics-as-usual. I think Palin has been getting a grasp of how they work though. *sigh* ...but I dont’ underestimate Rahm and the Obamamachine’s ability to steal the election in some way and do other such damage of sorts to jeopardize Palin’s campaign. We gotta pray!

By the time I finished reading Sarah’s book I was in a purple rage at what the left had tried to do to her and her family.

It sounds like something Rahm would do with permission from Obummer, Soros and the rest of the POS.

The most unsurprising news of the year.

Yes, and I also realized after reading her book how principled and courageous she was. She was a servant of the Alaskan citizenry, not the spercial interests like so many Alaskan politicians before her.

Now I pray that she, as a gamechanger for 2010 and President No. 45 in 2012, will do the same thing for the other 49 states as well.

Merry Christmas!

I am starting to think she would have been better off letting Greta get the first cable interview instead of Hannity. We need more people to get this side of the story and Hannity asked shallow questions.

Palin stated that she read “Rules for Radicals” and “The Thumping” by Emanuel....she knew the tsection in Alinsky’s point in his book of “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.....Obama was trying to minimized Sarah to utter bankruptcy by 2011 and losing control of her administration even earlier

Yet still some people come here and say “Uh I don’t understand why she quit” seriously, do people need it repeated using sock puppets. She resigned because the bastards were trying to bankrupt her. It was either resign or else up homeless. She has 5 kids, she loved her job, but it wasn’t worth going broke over. After I read her book I was full of rage also, because Obama and his minions did whatever it took to destroy her, but you know what, it failed miserably. Sarah is free now, free to speak her mind and speak out against Obama. If she were still Governor now she would never have been able to travel the country or post those facebook messages. Never would have happened..so the left’s plans backfired

Don't forget how the RATs sent "Bugsy Daley" down to Florida in 2000 to steal the election for the now discredited algor.

If the Palin bashers on FR who can only say quitter, read this and do’t get it, they won’t get anything.

Oh, they get it, they are just blinded by their hate for Sarah Palin that they don’t want to admit the obvious. They enjoy calling her a quitter but seriously its getting old. I just laugh it off whenever those Romneybots come here and try to trash her. Just say “Obamacare = Romneycare” and they shut their mouths
