I had the Mattel “ burp gun” in the 50’s . Made of METAL. Wound it up, put in a roll of caps , and it went full auto . Burned up the roll in about 10 seconds . Dad(Santa ) got me a whole carton box of caps to go with it . Can still smell the burnt powder . THOSE were the days .
Coooooool. Dig the starched shirt and tie.
You forgot the E-Z-Bake Oven. ;-)
oh yes, can’t forget the baking after we hook up with our dream mystery date who buys us the dream home

I got one for Christmas when I was about 10. Lasted about 4-5 months
before I ... redesigned it with my brother's wood burning tool. ;o)
Well, the good cookin’ helped her land the dream mystery date. ;-)
if anyone wants to relive their Secret Sam days...
Secret Sam sells for less on Ebay than Johnny Seven.
This was a quality cap gun. Ate up caps as fast as a real one would use .45 ACP. At a nickel a box, learned to conserve ammo. Made of plastic, but still lasted until it was run over by a car.
You sure it wasn’t an m-14 with a red tube that simulated a flash on the barrel. My brother had one of those.
I got a plastic vacuum molding toy before 1970. I still remember the smell and feel of my burning flesh! :)
The Mattel Vac-U-Form machine?
>> This was a quality cap gun.
I actually HAD one of those. Neighbor gave my brother and I one apiece. You’re right about the durability.
Man, those were the days. I remember Johnny 7 and Secret Sam. I lusted after them but it didn’t happen — no birthday, no Christmas, nuthin’. I remember trying to knock off something similar to the Secret Sam — a Mattel Shootin’ Shell firing gizmo I built inside an old briefcase-like box I made. As I recall it didn’t work so well.
On the other hand I don’t even remember the “secret date” game even though it was of the same era. Maybe that’s a good thing!
Here is the .45 1911 to go with it for sale!
