The Congress of the United States is corrupt. And I mean both Houses, and both major parties. I realize that a few Members of each House are trustworthy, but, as a group they are absolutely the most corrupt bunch to ever disgrace our Nation. Their voting records prove it. In November of 2010 the entire House of Representatives will stand for re-election; all 435 of them. One third of the Senate, a total of 33 of them, will also stand for re-election. Vote every incumbent out - every one of them. No matter their Party Affiliation. Clean out the House of Representatives, and replace them with 435 people who have no political favors owed to anyone but their constituents. Let's make them understand that they work for us. They are answerable to us, and they have to run that body with common sense, and fiscal responsibility, or be ousted. We will no longer stand for their corruption. Two years later, in 2012, vote the next third of the incumbents in the Senate out as well as that idiot who calls himself president. We can do the same thing in 2014 and, by that time we will have put all new people in that body as well. That's what the Framers of our Constitution envisioned. We, the People, have got to take this Country back and we HAVE to do it peacefully. I am also suggesting term limits on the new bunch --8 YEARS FOR REPRESENTATIVES AND 12 YEARS FOR SENATORS. NO EXCEPTIONS. THE LONGER THEY STAY IN OFFICE, THE MORE POWER THEY GET AND THEY LOVE IT AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET RE-ELECTED. WE HAVE TERM LIMITED THE PRESIDENT -- NOW LET'S TERM LIMIT THE LEGISLATORS. Please, if you love this Country, send this (as I have done) to absolutely everyone who's email address appears in your address book. A grassroots movement can change this Country in no time. Let's make it happen. VOTE THE POWER ABUSERS OUT........LET'S TAKE AMERICA BACK !!!!
I’d love to think this were possible. I hope it is. How do we keep this in front of the masses and get them to agree to and own this idea?
More likely to me is attacking every member who has forgotten who they work for and send them packing. At the same time dictating to the remaining what they need to do to stay in power (protect the Constitution).
“8 YEARS FOR REPRESENTATIVES AND 12 YEARS FOR SENATORS.”
My wish list;
Six year term for each...with rolling elections every two years for those who are termed out..to begin immediately....and two terms of four years for POTUS...except this one...which should be One for the One....and never EVER set foot in DC or do any government related work again, ever...mandatory eight years service in some sort of business related private enterprise or the military or combination...stop these idiots from going right to the cocoon from the la-la-land of college Poly-Sci Fi schools...
This is the dumbest post I have ever read on FR. What if your represenative in Congress is Michele Bachmann? Vote her out too?
He joined today and tossed off 3 vanity posts. Frankly, we’re lucky he isn’t rambling about chemtrails or advertising for penis enlargement.
There is a handful of CONSERVATIVE Reps and Senators that deserve our support. I would hate to lose the good ones that have fought the good fight against all odds for us.
The other problem with the “throw the bums out” approach, you need to make sure you don’t replace them with even more (or worse) bums.
Agree. My Congressman is Elton Gallegly, a staunch conservative Republican. No way am I going to “vote him out” and cast my vote for a liberal Dem just because Gallegly is an incumbent.
Er, what if your ‘Rat congressman (here in MA, they are only ‘Rats; in fact there are NO Republican reps anywhere in New England) is running _unopposed_? Blank the vote?
Welcome to Massachusetts politics, where Unenrolleds outnumber Republicans. In the race for the Senate seat Ted Kennedy held since the yr of my birth, 1962, there are three candidates: Disgusting Dem. Atty General Martha Coakley, (State Senator)
Republican Scott Brown, and “Liberty Party” candidate
Joe L. Kennedy (no relation... I think he’s of Hispanic
origin and got adopted)
Conservatives moan about having ‘Rats like Kennedy for
Senator. Along comes Brown. They agree with him on maybe 7 of 9 issues. Not good enough, so they decide to sit home.
Result on 1/19 will probably be Coakley winning, on whom they agree with on 0 of 9 issues. The election could be winnable (barely) with a united front against her, but they’d rather be pure and let another Dem in. Nice.
And when a crucial vote on health care comes down to one vote, just one vote, we can be proud that Senator
Martha Coakley will cast it their way, instead of Scott Brown standing up in opposition. Good work folks!
Martha—and the late Ted—will be proud of you!
Well, looks like it is taxation without representation. The Comuno-Nazis in Washington have shown their disdain for the American people.
The Comuno-Nazis will not allow an election in 2010. You can bet on that.
What to do?
No more talk, as it is useless. No more demonstrations, as they have proven to be waste of time. No more web sites protesting the Congress, as they are the refuge of scoundrels.
It is time to shed the shackles of tyranny by following the example of the Founders in Boston and at Concorde.
Oh: And I believe Brown is for self-imposed term limits. Coakley no doubt is not. Now, I know former MA congressman Marty Meehan also made a term limits pledge—and broke it—but I get the feeling Scott won’t. Naah, let’s just have
Martha Coakley for the next 30 years or so!
“We, the People, have got to take this Country back and we HAVE to do it peacefully.”
That is a preference and that should always be the goal, but it isn’t a requirement............ and it may very well be guided by the actions of those that are trying to destroy you.
Well of course vote them out. But if you have GOP congressman who has been voting against all of BHO’s big spending plans like Obamacare, Cap and Tax, the Porkulus, why on earth would you vote him out of office in favor of a Democrat who would be most likely to support BHO’s agenda?
Posts like this are simply ridiculous. You as a voter should be knowledeable about your own congressman and US Senators and know something about what they are doing and what their voting record. Keep the goods ones throw out the bad ones.
Posts like these are mindless. They assume you are incapable of discerning the good from the bad.
