Political Lore Blog ^

While I appreciate the efforts of the President, Al Gore, and all of Hollywood to save Earth from its “fever,” I do have one question: What SHOULD the Earth’s temperature be?

And a corollary to that would be where do you stick the thermometer.

That is a question I have asked several liberals and they just shrug.
It's basic science. In order to know the effect of man on earth, you need to have baseline OBSERVED (not modelled) temperatures without man's presence.

Then observe the temperatures again with man's presence.
That obviously can't be answered.

It don’t matter ....it’s just bullsh*t anyway.All’s for a snow job.

Think of a human being as a grain of sand on the earth...can you see him from the moon? NO!

What can a grain of sand add to the universe? Nothing!

Genius 8..(last of chapter)says..’as long as the earth remains..there will always be seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, nite and day, summer and winter.

people can believe it or call it a lie...I choose to believe God.

I don’t know,

but in the name of science,

we should bury

__algore__ (peace be upon his oscar, nobel, grammy and tony)

very carefuly

so we can insert a rectal thermometer as needed,

and then after a few weeks take his temperature.

Libs like Wiki....snip/quote from same...

"The last glaciation centered on the huge ice sheets of North America and Eurasia. Considerable areas in the Alps, the Himalaya and the Andes were ice-covered, and Antarctica remained glaciated.

Canada was nearly completely covered by ice, as well as the northern part of the USA, both blanketed by the huge Laurentide ice sheet. Alaska remained mostly ice free due to arid climate conditions."

WHO caused that melting? (per the man made climate changers, it could not have been a 'what', as in the sun or earth's natural climate evolvement)

As you say, the climate cool/warm/change nuts don't have a temperature (what if I want the glaciers back?)

What should the Earth's Temperature be?

Well, according to the CRU, it depends on the tree rings of YADO61 ... a single, solitary Larch on the Yamal Peninsula in Siberia — hand-picked by Dr. Keith Briffa and used to create Dr. Michael Mann's "Hockey Stick."

The magical faraway tree - a larch in the Yamal Peninsula in Siberia, sampled by Dr Keith Briffa, has been called 'the most influential tree in the world'

For me:

never more than 80 degrees and just fine by me if it is as cold as 10 degrees.

Provided, in both instances, that the humidity approximates high desert saturation or lack of.

I am always amuseded by the pedestrian way most people think. Terms like North/South, Up/Down are constructs of our own imagination. We know that it is conceivable that North has been South and the other way around.

It has to do with 3D vs. 2D thought. Flat Earth is 2D, the real Universe is 4D, 5D, 10D? 11D? 20D? Who knows?

There is know intrinsic North/South or Up/Down. There is no real known size to our solar system, galaxy, or universe. We simply relate our perceptions to our own bodies, or more simply how long it would take us to get from one measurable distance to another.
However, the size of our bodies are related proportionately to our environment which is not measurable in the proportion of relativity to some other unknown thing so once again, it is all unknowable.

Bottom line, what is the right amount of CO2 and what is the right (correct) temperature for Earth? We could depend on GIGA as we have for billions of years, or we can take the reigns ourselves and attempt to install some sort of Global Central Air conditioning that will have consequences we cannot foretell.

Are we masters of the Earth now? Is Mother Nature fired along with everyone else?

One of the foundations of science is understanding what it is that you do not know.

The foundation of Liberalism is the belief that you know better than the Universe, that there is nothing that cannot be made “better” with your interference. And that God needs to get out of your way.

I do agree with seedtime & harvest, I do agree with nite & day, I do agree with heat and summer. But lets talk about cold and winter that might be open for debate with the boss man......

80 is a mite hot. I think 75 would do for an upper temp. 60 isn't bad for a low.

Let's form a consensus on this before we do anything. ;^)
