Gitmo North: Stuck on Stupid
Grand Rants ^ | 12-16-09 | Stoutcat

Sen Dick Durban (D-IL), a defender of the plan to bring terrorists into the heart of America, proved that he is more interested in pork than in the safety of his constituents:

“We believe this is in service to our country,” said Durbin who noted that Obama was directing the prisoners to his home state. “This is a great opportunity. Our state unemployment numbers are 11%…People are desperate for good jobs.”

In the smackdown heard ’round the world, Liz Cheney responded:

“Americans did not elect President Obama to usher terrorists onto the homeland and call it a jobs program.”

Indeed they did not.

They will long for Gitmo.

Our dear reader bambam stuck on stoopid -— One of the best yet.

Look at it like this, the ACLU lost their biggest donot to the green scams, and now needs new sources of income.

Durban is stuck on stupid. You have an empty prison, fine...how about taking overflow from overcrowded prisons? Better yet, there are plenty of criminals in Washington DC, we should start throwing Durbin and the rest of the bums in jail anyway...and after all, unemployment is over 11% in IL. So it's a jobs thing to throw Congress in jail and who could argue with that?!

Let's say I want to build a new plant. Would I consider locating it near a terrorist holding facility that might make local targets tempting to those trying to bring pressure on the US government to release them. Would I want to put my children in a school near here where hostages for trade might be taken. Or would I want to look for an arguably safer local? That 11% unemployment figure is for the whole state. How many prison guards would you have to hire to make a dent in that? Please.....

I’m expecting to hear that Gitmo is going to be given back to Cuba any day now.

This move of the GITMO prisoners to an Illinois prison is likely all about political payoffs in Illinois. I bet that "unused" Illinois prison will be sold to the Federal Bureau of Prisons at an inflated price with the spoils being distributed to Obama cronies. I would also bet that there will also need to be "remodeling" that will be done at inflated prices by unions with the usual kickbacks. SEIU members will likely have cushy prison jobs at inflated wages.

All this does is solve two problems for Obama, giving a home to the terrorists because he hadn't thought of that when he closed Gitmo and give rewards to his political pals in Illinois.

When Illinois sells the mostly unused state prison to the government to house the terrorist’s from Gitmo; and they move 100 of the terrorist into it,(after it has been turned into a high security facility): according to a report on Fox News last evening:it will provide 3000 jobs .

Imagine buying a prison, remodel it for high security, bring 100 prisoners from Gitmo; and create 3000 jobs! No mention of the millions of dollars they will use doing this absurdity.

That is a classic example of how government waste and stupidity follows through on everything the government touches and becomes involved in creating. Great waste and corruption. How is it going to create 3000 jobs for 100 prisoners?

God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

Actually what will happen is that they'll sue saying the cold weather constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. Some Carter judge will agree and force us to send them to Club Med for incarceration.

yesterday there was some congressman who made a good point. The liberals say the terrorists hate Gitmo so much they are using it as a recruiting tool. So the democrats move Gitmo to IL and nothing has changed. They will still hate Gitmo, expect now Gitmo is in IL and the focus of their hate is IL. IL is much more accessible than Gitmo to terrorism. The democrats have made American much less safe by playing politics.

....IL is much more accessible than Gitmo to terrorism.

You got that right. Do you know the Quad Cities I & II nuclear plants are about 20 miles from the new 'Gitmo'? Good planning Durbin.
