When the real deprivations hit, that’ll be a better recruitment tool than all of Soros’ billions.

Good post. Rush has been saying the same thing. Third parties are losers and only guarantee the election of leftist Democrats like Obama.

The tea party movement’s goal should be to seize the reins of the GOP and populate the leadership of the party with rock-ribbed conservatives.

I doubt that Soros feels that way. Realistically, Palin is going to put conservatives in office, but with few exceptions they will be Republican conservatives, not RINOs and not “Tea Party” candidates who are running against real Republicans in the general election. The Dede Scozzafava fiasco was an outlier, something that is not likely to recur (if for no other reason than because the GOP leadership learned from their stupid move). My guess is that Obama, Pelosi, Soros, and other anti-American socialists are scared to death of Palin because she is the real thing, someone who wants constitutional government and can’t be bought off with a cut of the take.

"Leaders and Organizers of the Conservative Third Party Movement,"

That must be directed to the media and the democrats because that's where most of that kind of talk comes from. They will do anything to cause trouble.

“”The tea party movement’s goal should be to seize the reins of the GOP and populate the leadership of the party with rock-ribbed conservatives.””

The tea party movement’s goals should also include the overt recruitment of Democrats who are American.

If ever the time were ripe...

You are right. That’s all it is—talk. Once the Third Party movement recognizes the difficulty of getting qualified on the ballot in all 50 states they will hopefully give it up. I also think Sarah Palin is way too smart to go along with such lunacy, but Lou Dobbs I don’t know. He seems to be a lot like Ross Perot—an independent maverick—very populist, liberal on some issues conservative on others. A none-of-the-above guy.

Indeed- whenever a slobbering partisan stooge like Soros says “I hope you put Sarah our front” you can bet your last cent that they are terrified of you putting her out front.

Amen. But to do that one needs $$$ and control of the local precincts.

Tea Party leadership should have a War Room to discuss these very things.

I like your optimism but have you followed the GOP for the last 30 years?

Well, well. A noobie. Welcome to FR.

I’m curious about your italicization of “Tea Party” and the lack of italics surrounding “real Republicans”.

What is your definition of “real Republicans”, noob?

The fact that you think that God has any political affiliation makes me suspicious of anything you write. Delusional comes to mind

A splintered right is the democrats dream and ticket to controlling politics for years to come.

But the right has to be more right than center right in order to take back this country. RINO's suck.

20 years ago or so, I took a political science class at CU Boulder under Eugene McCarthy. It was illuminating about how the process has been rigged to keep third parties out of the political arena. He was decrying the control that had been pushed over to the FEC, which has been porked full of political operatives who want to protect their hegemony over the process.

So, yeah, it’s hard to get qualified in all 50 states. They used to refer to this kind of political ‘rigging’ as Chicago politics, or Tammany Hall. But in this case, Mayor Daley and Boss Tweed are indistinguishable from John McCain, Harry Reid, Tip O’Neill, Barack Obama, George Bush (I and II), or any other of the shmucks that we’ve had the poor common sense to support, thinking we were exercising our right to freedom.

Yeah, it’s that special sort of freedom that you feel as you notice the noose slipping over your head.

Third Party? You betcha. And after being a Republican first for 32 years, I’m a Conservative ONLY, from now on.

Why not Conservatives and Republicans work together? That’s precisely what BHO’s army of left-wing radical activists did. They worked WITHIN the Democrat Party, not against it. The art of successful politics is the art of successful coalition building.

Keep in mind: Nothing in this world of ours is perfect. Least of all politics. The only perfection, the only utopia you will ever find is your reward after you depart this earth. For now, please, let us dwell in the real world and put pipe dreams aside.
