I may catch some flak for this, but Im prepared. While I very much like Sarah Palin and what she represents, I do believe she made a serious error when answering a question concerning the issue of Barack Obamas birth certificate.

My point was, I didn’t see how she added to/clarified the issue and invited you to enlighten me... YOU FAILED TO DO SO.
Didn’t mean to make you huffy this close to Christmas.
Some seem to think she was brilliant in just mentioning it, I don’t.
“She was BRILLIANT!”
I can, and have, pointed at the carcawss and went ewwww, is this and being elected govenor all that is necessary to make her brillant?
I don't know anything else about Chin, and I'd be inclined to take Ted Olson's opinion on most things. This is just to understand where the question of McCain's status came from.Senator McCain was born in 1936 in the Canal Zone to U.S. citizen parents. The Canal Zone was territory controlled by the United States, but it was not incorporated into the Union.
As requested by Senator McCain's campaign, distinguished constitutional lawyers Laurence Tribe and Theodore Olson examined the law and issued a detailed opinion offering two reasons that Senator McCain was a natural born citizen. Neither is sound under current law.
The Tribe-Olson Opinion suggests that the Canal Zone, then under exclusive U.S. jurisdiction, may have been covered by the Fourteenth Amendment's grant of citizenship to "all persons born . . . in the United States." However, in the Insular Cases, the Supreme Court held that "unincorporated territories" were not part of the United States for constitutional purposes. Accordingly, many decisions hold that persons born in unincorporated territories are not Fourteenth Amendment citizens.
The Tribe-Olson Opinion also suggests that Senator McCain obtained citizenship by statute. However, the only statute in effect in 1936 did not cover the Canal Zone. Recognizing the gap, in 1937, Congress passed a citizenship law applicable only to the Canal Zone, granting Senator McCain citizenship, but eleven months too late for him to be a citizen at birth.
"At the time of Mr. McCains birth, the relevant law granted citizenship to any child born to an American parent out of the limits and jurisdiction of the United States. Professor Chin said the term limits and jurisdiction left a crucial gap. The Canal Zone was beyond the limits of the United States but not beyond its jurisdiction, and thus the law did not apply to Mr. McCain."This is one I'd really call a technicality, but then I'm not a lawyer.
Really - so she "made a mistake" to question Obama's eligibility and divided loyalties
to other nations, and that Obama places other nations AHEAD of the United States?
1) As first a British citizen, then later as a Kenyan citizen?: |
2) As an Indonesian citizen (Obama adopted the surname and citizenship of his step-father Lolo Soetoro):When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu,
Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdoms dwindling
empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject
whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948.
That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.s children.
3) Plus current examples of his acquiescence of American sovereignty to other nations: |
Again: "Palin made a mistake" to question Obama's eligibility and divided loyalties to other nations?!
They have been asked to confirm and state that the Colb is genuine and will not do so. Whatever is printed on it doesn’t matter.
Again, my post included a question mark. Instead pf answering, you chose to spew silliness. Now, I don't care what your opinion is.
Good day.
When 51% of Republicans do not believe that Obama was born in the U.S. that means the percentage with doubts about it are even greater.
It would be IMPOSSIBLE for her to tip toe around this stinking carcass in the living room. She **wisely** understand this especially when millions are yelling and pointing at the decomposing mess!
“pointing at the decomposing mess! “
You were very plain, you pointed out that she is now among them... that’s quite a distinction.
ONE OTHER THING, Gov. Plolin didn’t call me for advice, but if she had this would have been my statement.
Both the party and the states have a responsibility to ensure the candidate’s eligibility for office. It is fitting that the media, as well as the citizenry, question this and be supplied documentation of that process.
That is all.
I personally wouldn’t have challenged McCain and offered my two cents on this thread as someone who does not believe Barry O. is NBC for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which is a lack of proof and his own statement.
I wouldn’t have even waded into this thing a year ago until I saw his fake COLB. Especially, when I know he has access to or possesses at three Long Form BC’s, that many of us are familiar with.
Also, Barry O. and I are about the same age and there is some question of his adoption. If he had been adopted his BC will reflect that as “amended”.
This thread took a strange twist.
Hey, thanks for showing up. There were some “different” posters on this subject today.
I was responding to your post “Show me where the COLB was certified by anyone in Hawaii”
Alvin T Onaka is the State Registrar of Hawaii.
He is prepated like the Iraqi soldires on the ground were prpared for the smart bombs from the F117A.
“I do believe she made a serious error when answering a question concerning the issue of Barack Obamas birth certificate”
Nonsense.
51% of Republican voters don't believe 0bozo is a natural born citizen . Even amongst independents substantial number are not buying it. 25% of independents don't believe 0bama is a natural born citizen. Her statement will only further strengthen her support amongst Republicans.
Her statement was exactly right. Americans have every right to ask questions and demand answers about 0bama’s murky past.
Forget the stamp. Has Hawaii said that the online 0’s and 1’s of a ‘COLB’, representing one of their documents, is in fact legitimate? Have they said they issued it?
Yeah, she should have been more worried about whether or not Obama is a natural-born citizen instead of doing her job as Governor, knowing she was going to be picked as VP. ROFL
But she decided to give up the governorship so she could utilize the political clout of a Facebook poster.
Yep, and that Facebook has derailed two Obama Marxist agendas and made her even more popular. Not bad, eh?
Yea, we’re saved.
No, but the question was whether it was certified. It was. The closest they've gotten to the issue is verifying the place of birth:
"I Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii..."
‘No’
Exactly.
