Obama's Justice Department really knows how to take care of the President's buddies especially the criminal enterprise ACORN. According to the NY Times, the Justice department has directed the Administration to continue to pay ACORN for any services whose contracts were signed before congress cut off funds.
Section 163 of Division B (Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2010) of Public Law 111-68 does not direct or authorize the Department of Housing and Urban Development to breach a pre-existing binding contractual obligation to make payments to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or allied organizations where doing so would give rise to contractual liability.
In other words the Justice Department is saying you can't sign new contracts with ACORN but you need to continue existing contracts.

Hands off ACORN and terrorists but let’s go after Harvard police and Navy SEALs. Got it.
IMPEACH
and CIA agents. open season on them, too.
The list, ping
Communists protecting and funding communists. So what’s new?
of course announced on the friday after thanksgiving so no one responds.
but... but.... contracts for executive bonuses that were in force before the government became involved can be cancelled! This is racism at work.
Impeachment.
“and CIA agents. open season on them, too.”
- I heard that in the old Soviet era, the KGB/Bureaucrats really hated the military, and vice-versa. Not sure about Cheka..I think they’d fall in the “KGB” category.
I wonder if the FBI is next.
It just gets worse and worse.
The Usurpers needs to get dragged off the stage.
That would be a singular Usurper.
The govt can pull finding for any contract at any time.
yeah, like they pulled Marine One and 850 hardworking men and women were out of work. no one cared about them. cut the ACORN contracts NOW.
I wonder how the DOJ criminal investigations of ACORN are going?
I dispute this interpretation.
While the government is obligated to pay ACORN for contractual work already performed, it is perfectly legitimate to issue a stop work order and pay for no further work.
Now this may very well mean that the government would be liable for termination expenses on the contracts, and any even moderately good contract lawyer can make these expenses add up to more than the remainder of the money in the contract, it at least puts ACORN out of the "free" tax preparation business. And, if the government wanted to, it could use the evidence it has to threaten tax evasion prosecution for ACORN, which might induce them to drop the termination expenses claim.
I can’t help but wonder if all those stimulus funds as reported
on Recovery.gov as going to NON-EXISTENT Congressional Districts
isn’t just the method Obama is using to keep $$$ flowing to ACORN.
Especially after the errors/lies at Recovery.gov were acknowledged.
And the “we aren’t going to bother to fix them” pronouncement was made.
Why isn’t this in breaking?
The AG is breaking the law by making things up.
Now is depends on what the definition of “provided to”.
We all know that the intent from CONGRESS was to end taxpayer funding to a corrupt organization and Obama is trying to wiggle around the law to put money in the hands of his cohorts in an upcoming election year.
This calls for a much deeper investigation because there is no doubt that this goes all the way to the top.
Republicans better be out early next week calling for a new statute that specifically deals with this totally illegal act by the Justice department.
Investigate, Try, Convict and imprison Obama.
