They Party in High Style While Millions of Americans Face Hard Times!
Is the White House just not good enough for the Obamas? Why else would they erect a glass "tent" on the White House lawn for what has to be one of the most expensive state dinners of all time?
A large tent was erected for the State Dinner on the South Lawn of the White House November 24, 2009 in Washington, D.C. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama hosted their first State Dinner for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur of India.

Good thing they saved all that money scaling down this year's Hanukkah celebration (ya know, on account of the economy).

Someone on the news said "tents" were traditional for Indian occasions, but even if that's true, so what? Wouldn't the Indian PM and his wife like to see what's traditional for an American president?
This administration is completely incompetent, embarrassing and lacking in any kind of class.

Indeed, under the guise of “US protocol,” you know, much like the “US protocol” when the ‘messiah’ bows to foreign leaders.
2010 and 2012 can not come soon enough.

It’s really pathetic how the mainstream media is frying to outdo each other to cover this event. Obama is not the first President to hold a state dinner, and I don’t recall any of past dinners being covered with the fanfare or hoopla that this one has.
In a way, I kinda feel sorry for the Indian Prime Minister and his wife — having to spend an evening with this insufferable jerk.

Looks kind of small to me, and like the tents they have at golf tournaments.

The word is “trying” not “frying.” I gotta learn to type.

Maybe the tent had to be see-thru so Obama could have a s many pictures taken of him as possible from all different angles. We all know he loves the spotlight.

Lavish dining in a large, opulently decorated tent is a millenia-old Muslim tradition.
