"Those damn observations don't match our predictions! Reality must be wrong."
These guys are loony.
ping!
Yeah, and its coming down FAST!! Sweet.
Have you looked through the files? I’ve spent about 30 minutes and let me tell...they’re freaking dynamite. DYN-O-MITE.
Everyone should download the files and go through them with a fine tooth comb. Here is a link to the torrent containing the data.

Everything is there. All the embarrassing stuff you’d find on any small office server in America. A photoshop, a lot of memos, some personal data...etc etc. But the best I’ve found so far is a pdf entitled “RulesOfTheGame.pdf”
Here is rule #17, no doubt authored by an Alinsky disciple.
“17. Use emotions and visuals
Another classic marketing rule: changing behaviour by
disseminating information doesnt always work, but emotions
and visuals usually do.”
That’s right...a manual describing how you should manipulate people’s emotions. Good stuff.
Just a cursory look at what was released so far shows a couple of the people in these emails were some of the authors of the IPCC report.
We need real investigative journalism here to uncover the corruption and stench of criminality these scum have foisted upon us.
I’m sure the AP is assigning at least 11 “cracked” reporters to this right now. (;-)
Actually I expect to see this show up on Fox. Might take awhile for the impact to really sink in. I've downloaded the data. There is a lot of it and I'm betting that the leaker has more. In any case, it will take some time to really absorb it. Some may be computer modeling code (don't quote me) and, if so, that would be very interesting to those who understand climate modeling.
Sorry, I must have been typing my post as you posted this, otherwise I wouldn’t have repeated the link.
I’m seeding away right now, as are hundreds of others. If you have broadband you’ll have it in a matter of minutes.
THEY PREYED ON OUR FEARS!!!!!
LOLOL!!!!!
It is extraordinarily tempting for even a (generally) ethical person to twist or “mislay” data when he KNOWS something is TRUE.
We see this in cops and prosecutors who frame up a person they KNOW is guilty.
The temptation is no doubt even greater when there is a religious level of belief, when they see the conflict not between accurate and inaccurate, but between Good and Evil.
Of course, scientists aren’t supposed to look at issues in this way, since when they do they by definition stop being scientists.
Perhaps this story will eventually play out to show that scientists are also people, and are as prone to human failings as anyone else. So we shouldn’t elevate a scientist’s opinion that much above anybody else’s.
Neat story.
It’s not a hard story to tell; just a little long in the telling. Typical broadcast news won’t have 23 seconds out of the 23 minute half hour show to work this. Maybe Rush or Hannity will.
These guys are apparently not computer geeks.
Emails never go away. One should never send an email you wouldn’t be happy to have published on the front page of every newspaper.
Not that I’ve always followed this rule myself.
