Separation of powers prevents Obama from halting a Senate hearing.

You'd think! So far everyone has rolled over and shown their soft underbelly.

e.g. Carl Levin cancelling Monday's Senate Armed Services hearing -

An aide to committee chairman Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., told Fox News that the meeting is delayed "at the request of the administration."

“In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging,” he laments.

God, I think my head exploded a little when I read that, Beckwith. Is that from the Boy King's Manifesto - the Audacity of Hope?

Meanwhile that whole 'backlash against Muslims' thing is nothing but a huge myth. (Although, I honestly wonder how long that's going to last with all the stuff that's been going down...)

Just a final note about the Lieberman investigation (and then I'll go away. ;^D):

He's been rebuffed/stonewalled by the White House.

The first public congressional hearing on the Fort Hood attack will not include testimony from any current federal law enforcement, military or intelligence officials because the Obama administration "declined to provide any" such witnesses, according to a Senate committee source.

...

But the list does not include anyone actively involved in investigating the Fort Hood attack, or anyone who might have been responsible for decisions made by various government agencies before the attack about whether to investigate the shooting suspect, Nidal Hasan. The Senate committee source said HSGAC Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) had hoped to have witnesses from the FBI and the U.S. Army, but was rebuffed in his requests.

No, don’t, we need all the stories about jihad we can get.

It’s like preaching to the choir here, but still.

Incredible. (don’t go away, I hadn’t seen that before!)

If Lieberman really wants these people to testify in front of Congress, the White House would have trouble refusing.

OK, swarthyguy - you asked for it. :^D

Army chief forming panel to examine career of Ft. Hood "suspect".

And guess which army chief is forming it? George 'Give me diversity or give me death' Casey. (I have to say that I lost respect for the man when he started in with that diversity crap on the Sunday shows.)

Gen. George W. Casey Jr., the Army's chief of staff, is forming a panel to look closely at the military career of Maj. Nidal M. Hasan, the man accused in the Ft Hood shootings and probe whether warning signs were missed, a senior Army official said Monday.

...

"Casey is looking at a panel that will look longitudinally across Hasan's entire career to figure out how did this happen (Ed.note: In a word, George - ISLAM.) and what can we do to stop it from happening again," said the Army official, speaking on the condition of anonymity because the announcement of such a group remains pending.

Let's see:
Mill-dew in Walter Reed, according to Obama and media it's Bush fault
Abu-Gaab(sp?) is Bush fault
Terrorist attack at Fort Hood, we have to look into that and see who knew what.

It’s from “The Audacity of Hope.”

Well, FWIW, I’ll go easy on Gen. Casey.

A man who enlisted after his father, a career colonel died in Vietnam, and stayed through the reinventing process that the Army did during and after the 70’s, rose through the ranks and in some part, has made the Army what it is today, gets a pass in my book.

This panel may well be pivotal. Since’s he’s empaneling it, IMO, it shows he knows that the PC culture of the Army needs a serious reappraisal and change.

This is something that probably Obama couldn’t strongarm him into not doing. One, as a serious general he himself will feel the need for it, and the tumult in Army ranks also necessitates it.

Whatever the reasons, at least he’s doing it.

I would like to be briefed on the following questions:

FBI announced within an hour or two “this was not a terror attack.” Doesn’t that letter ‘I’ stand for ‘investigation?’ It can’t be done that quickly, obvious to anyone.

Was the murdering islamic terrorist hasan wearing body armor? Haven’t seen an answer either way on this.

Murdering islamic terrorist hasan was photographed in a muslim costume earlier the same day. What is military policy on off duty conduct/dress/associations for active duty troops? He was off duty part of the day?

There is more, so much more......When can we expect this briefing?

Hello?

Pete Hoekstra is still out there talking about it

I imagine his goose is cooked... much the same as Curt Weldon.

Well, this is the first major terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11. Maybe they want to keep it as a lone nut job so Obama won't get the flak.
The government is looking for a scapegoat and it won't be the jihadi major Hasa.

Why did the white house lie and make up districts for the bailout money?

Because they had to pretend the money went somewhere other than their friends' pockets.

This way Obama can give a big “Shout out” to all the CAIR folk in the room.

“CAIR: Too soon for Ft. Hood ‘rush to judgment’”

I just want to add the WH is only “taking control” of what Congress lets them. Congress could have a hearing tomorrow if they really wanted.

I have not heard that he cancled his investigation as far as I know it is still scheduled for Thur.

But then again I could be wrong.

Ya see I was under the impression that Mr. Lieberman asked for the start of investigations to be yesterday, 16 Nov 2009.
